New interview with Denis Dyack!

Here are 3 interesting quotes:

Konami may be working on more titles with Nintendo.

IGNcube: Understood. But since you bring up Metal Gear, we're curious: you've hinted time and again that this collaboration between Nintendo, Konami and Silicon Knights is just the beginning. Can you elaborate?

Denis: Yes. I think that's one of the goals of the whole project. It's very important. It's not just one game. It's a very exciting collaboration between our groups and I think there is a strong urge for people like Miyamoto-san and Kojima-san to want to work together in the future. I think that's good for games. So yeah, I think something is happening.

Too Human is still being worked on?

IGNcube: Do you know what happened to Too Human?

Denis: Yes, I do! I can't talk about Too Human. But I do know what happened to it. I'm sorry. I wish I could talk about things, but I really think it's appropriate to focus on Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes right now.

I guess there is no more GBA connectivity.

IGNcube: GBA support? You had mentioned something about doing this at E3 2003 - any news?

Denis: That's a good question. We actually decided to pull it out. Yeah, we did. The reason we did that is because we had to make a choice between the overall quality or trying to squeeze more in and there's so much now. We asked what was more important - we all talked together as a group, and we decided that the best thing to do was to not include GBA support and instead make the game as best as it can be.

It's a great interview, but I'm a bit miffed about them pulling the GBA support- that would've been so friggin cool.

Could Konami be making Metal Gear Solid: 4 for the Gamecube or G2? Denis said this wasn't a one shot deal. If they are making a new game, what could it be?

Also, in my opinion, MGS: 3 looks a whole lot better than MGS: TS. I have watched the MGS: 3 E3 video and was amazed. The environments and nature is just so detailed and beautiful. I really hope SK pump up the graphics.

First off, never, and I repeat never, compare a video of a game to a screenshot of another game. Second of all, the  recent screenshots of MGS:TT are stunning and, in my opinion, look very close to MGS:3. I bet Twin Snakes will at least look comparable to MGS:3 when it's released- there's really no reason it shouldn't.

What were they going to use GBA connectivity for anyway? It seems like it's not needed for MGS.

Yea, you are kind of right. But please compare a screenshot of MGS:3 and Twin Snakes and look at them. Tell me which is better.

I can't wait to see Twin Snakes in motion.

MGS:3 still looks better, but MGS:TT is rapidbly approaching it, even in the very old screenshots we're seeing. But with current screenshots, i do agree MGS:3 looks better.

Meddma: I believe the main use was going to be for the codec thing- since the actual device in the game is very similar to a GBA, it would've been really engrossing to have your GBA act as the codec and have important messages pop up on it.

See?  Connectivty CAN make a difference.  And I'm not just saying that.

I think you are comparing the video of the game rather than the gameplay of MGS: 3. MGS: TS looks better in my opinion, unless if my memory is whack right now.

MGS:3

I am glad that they got rid of the connectivity issue. It means that they can focus on polishing the game, do more lighting, etc. It would have been a gimmick anyway. Wasn't Denis raving about how important the gba would be used in Twin Snakes? What the hell is Miyamoto contributing in this game? Ever time they ask about Miyamoto, Denis changes the questions or goes off topic. I guess he wasn't need since they booted the gba connectivity.

people do not become angels when they die according to the correct dogma. Angels are another race of people all together. Otherwise god wouldnt be able to chase adam and eve out of paradise with flaming sword carrying angels.
Anyways im an athiest and this is one reason why i dont like religion most people dont know their own stuff.
anyways....your tryign to read too much into what Dyack is saying.

Looks like Nintendo has Denis Dyack on a leash! Maybe they tortured him for leaking a rumor about the Metal Gear remake (Remember he said he'd like to work on such a game in jest, and pow! Here it is!)

As far as GBA connectivity, it could work, but a better overall product is better.

As far as Kid Icarus is concerned, there appears to be two theories: The upcoming Dead Phoenix from Capcom maybe Kid Icarus in disguise. The 2nd is that an interview with GamePro said Denis Dyack proffessed interest in it. Way too early to tell, but its fun speculating.

Now whatever happened to Too human...

i love denis's interviews- he never lets everything out, but gives you a taste of something so that you want more of it- his interviews are always a great read- and i love the information he pointed out graphics wise- 60 frames per second will be hammered out before release, the graphics will be smoother, and i think he said that each character has upwards to 3000 polygons- pretty good stuff

"Well, since FF:CC and Pikmin 2 are delayed i'm getting this game"

well the one thing in the interview that was stated was that the game is coming out this winter- and as ign said winter is a long time- it could be anywhere from november 2003 - march 2004- i hope the game is not delayed but then again i do want the best experience from the game
i call the big one bitey.
