I'm looking foward to this game, I play percussion often, and this is the sort of thing I think I'd enjoy. Many rhythym games in the past have been sucessful and enjoyable, what evidence so far has there been that this one won't be? Parruper and DDR sell well on other consoles, so why shouldn't this do for the Cube?

perhaps thats the problem, these sort of games have never graced the gamecube, the only one that comes to mind is parapa the rapper 1 on n64, and how many people would have gotten that? (im trying to hunt down a copy ) and so most nintendo exclusive gamers wouldn't necessarily played dance/rythem games and so 1) wouldn't think to much of it, 2) not have much interest in it at all, i know i haven't played any of these sort of games before, never played a DDR, never a samba de amigo, the closest i have come is a demo of parapa the rapper 2 on PS2 (whassup with the noodles?)

either way i would urge people to try this game, if you dont like it you dont like it, and there is nothing wrong with that, but allways be willing to try new things, lest the video game industry fall into depressing stagnation.

I personally don't have a problem with a drum game coming to Nintendo (it could be fun!), or really that it's being based on Donkey Kong, but couldn't Nintendo come up with at least a new franchise for the game? It seems like they're going to be relying on Donkey Kong's popularity to sell a thoroughly un-Donkey Kong game.

well on www.the-magicbox.com they say that namco's other drum game that they released for the ps2 last year has shipped and sold over 1 million copies- thats not too bad for a drum game- hopefully the donkey kong licence will help promote this game
i call the big one bitey.

yeah, they are trying to break a new genre into a group of gamers with minimal experiance with said genre, by then adding a recogniseable chracter the chance for success is higher. when/if this game is a success then perhaps we will see other such games, DDRX? (not sure what they are upto) Samba De Amiga (ahem, Amigo..) 2? Parapa The Rapper 3? i certainly hope so

Because they latch on to anything perceived as cool by the media or their peers, and anything that deviates from this perceived coolness they immediately dismiss as garbage for fear of retribution from their peers if they, god forbid, choose to think for themselves and give a game with one ounce of originality a fair chance.
