Denis Dyack and ....Kid Icarus

You know how Dyack hinted about Metal Gear Solid : The Twin Snakes in the PGC article before it was announced? Well anyway, in the latest issue of GamePro in the MGS SnakeEater/Twin Snakes article, they have a few quotes from him. In one of them he says that if he could remake one game he would remake Kid Icarus!  I don't know if he said that to hint anything, but it's still possible because he hinted in the PGC article about Twin Snakes.

IGN is speculating that Dead Pheonix may be quetly turning into a kid icarus game.  They speculate this because it has not been shown or talked about since it was debuted at the first showing.  They already had the winged character down, looked like they had the feel of flight down too.  Although I may have trouble seeing a Kid Icarus in the engine they were using.

Even though Twin Snakes and any other remake Silicon Knights will handle will be awesome, but I wish they would stay with making original games like Legacy of Kain and Eternal Darkness. I also wish Retro Studios could resume work on Raven Blade and use the Metroid Prime engine for a new game.

I never played Kid Icarus, but from what I have heard from people it sounds pretty frick'n  cool.  With SK's diverse abilities and great talent; they would be a great developer for nearly any type of game and a SK Kid Icarus on the GC or GC2 (NES5, N64x4 whatever) would be a great introduction into the series for me and other like me. I hope it happens just as long as it doesn't affect TooHuman's release.

I personally don't want to see SK do another remake right after The Twin Snakes.

I don't believe one of Nintendo's in-depth-story developers should be reduced to making more remakes.
That said, I'll wait until I see The Twin Snakes then decide after said point.

Denis Dyack's hint about MGS was with an interview with IGN.

Kinda funny, because first he talked about how subtle his hints were, then explained how they went over everbody's heads.  Then he gave the hint.

Quote

Some of the things we put in that we thought were sneaky people haven't even noticed yet. So we think that maybe we were too subtle and that maybe we need to put more action in.

If you look at games that I personally find very appealing, like Metal Gear Solid, they have huge amounts of flash and they've got the content as well. So I think that's the direction we're going to go in next time.

check it out.  its a good interview!!!

Call me crazy but I would rather see SK work on original content.  I don't want every Nintendo developer to be working on sequels that EAD doesn't have time for.  What's the point of even having different developers when everyone just works on the same stuff again and again?  SK should be cranking out nothing but original content.  It's not like Rare made nothing but Donkey Kong games.

Totally agree but there have been two Kid Icarus games.. they could make their own story line, new characters, new worlds. Everything could be new but just the name to sell it. Namco will make LOTS of money off of Donkey Kong if it turns out good.

Kid Icarus hasn't had a new installment in over 10 years, so a lot of people dont even know what its about.  Releasing a new KI will be like releasing a new series to many.
