Hello, for the past several weeks from today I noticed an ever increasing rate at which my
GameCube Internal System Clock{

} slows down. At first, when I originally noticed, it steadied at an inaccuracy (less than it should be) of 2 seconds per day, but then gradually increased to where it falls behind about 15 seconds every day. This massive inaccuracy accumulated over the duration of 11 days. I have also utilized 3 other synchronized clocks to time this as well. The 3 clocks are always the same, whilst the GCN clock being off by quite a bit.
I don’t know what this means, or even if it’s a problem as it might just be how the Hardware is created, as I'm aware that many "shortcuts" were taken to manufacture the GCN at low costs. I don’t see any entries to input another clock battery of sorts, which I would assume it would be an easy fix as the battery is slowly dying. Does the system even require a battery? I’ve seen absolutely no mentions of it in the Instruction Manual.
I’ve been a serious, hard-core, old-school Nintendo fan ever since I was 3 years old (Now 13 years old), and now even the merest thought that my GameCube may be sick disturbs my mind. No matter how large or minor it may be. As I’m sure you may wonder, I’m very fussy with my stuff. Laugh if you please, but I’m the kind of gamer that makes all friends wash hands before playing, actually cover all of my systems with plastic, put my games in a drawer with towels wrapped around them, and so on. In fact, even my old NES system that I got from my Dad that got me hooked to begin with still works flawlessly and looks no more than a day old.
If anyone else has any input,
EXPERIENCES, or suggestions on how to fix, then I please urge you to post in this thread and help a kid out a bit. I have searched for some time on other topics relating to this, and have even consulted numerous online GCN Hardware FAQs, as well as the Official GCN Instruction Booklet, yet to no avail I come to this message board as my final destination to try and uncover this minor, yet bothersome, problem.
If you for some reason don’t want to post it in here, email me at:
shankzx43r@hotmail.com. I’m very desperate to uncover my problem. I hope someone can lend me a hand. If not, then I thank you for reading this anyway!
Thanks a million for any assistance you can provide me in this matter. I am forever in debt of your kind deeds.
