Ultimate Game Boy?
« on: August 03, 2003, 02:38:00 AM »
I'd have to say, GBA and GBASP included, I still consider my old GBC to be the best in true Gameboy gaming. It was the ultimate evolution of the original GB platform with the clarity of screen and color to drool for. Plus the feel of it in the hands had not and has not been matched by any other hand held system. I've become very attached to my old teal model and still choose it over my GBA whenever possible, despite the age it's starting to show (My dog stepped on it scratching up the screen a bit the other day).

I don't know how you can say that including the SP.  It not only corrected many flaws in the previous GB designs, but also re-defined what Nintendo can do.  Plus it's totally backward-compatible.  No contest.

I would have to agree with Kenny on this one.  It's just the ultimate no-brainer.

(My dog stepped on it scratching up the screen a bit the other day).

LOL, im sorry that was just too funny...
my dog chewed on my PS2 controllers and wires when he was a puppy.  he did some significant damage but they still work fine.

i'd say for comfort that gbc is better, it just feels better in your hands and is easier to control.
but gba sp more than makes up for it and is better all around.  what i dont like about the original gba is that it's hard to hold it for a long time while using the shoulder buttons in games.

GBC has probly the best comfort of all of the GameBoys (It would have been a tie between SP and GBC, but SP leaves red pressure sores on my hands ) but other features (color, games, screen, style) Sp is the best. Joeamis, I just have to ask, is that Leon from RE4?
Mac>PC
GameCube>X-Box
GBA SP=N-Gage

No.  It's Squall from Final Fantasy VIII.  Believe me, the similarity in appearance between those characters hasn't fallen flat with me.

Lol, a dog chewing on cords? that's nothing. I remember spending lot's of time repairing my friend's n64 controllers everytime I went to his house it seemed. Their cat was the worst (I always kinda hoped the little guy would bite the cord and get a little shock but no such luck).

I said: my dog chewed on my PS2 CONTROLLERS and wires when he was a puppy.

(the chords are now only held together by the metal inside the rubber, with the rubber gone entirely in many places)
also the analog sticks are missing chunks of rubber...

GBASP is only great for midgets and lobster-people. It's not meant to be held by adult human hands.

LOL lobster people!!!  thats priceless
Although I've never used GBASP for a long period of time I imagine it's too small for my hands because the reg GBA is too small.

I'd have to agree with the lobster people comment. Neither the GBA with it's poorly placed L and R buttons, or the SP, which though improved, is too freakin small have anything on the GBC or original GB. GBC gets fat right where your hands need it, while remaining small enough to fit in a pocket. I just carted mine around to play between holes on the golf course while we waited for the two groups in front of us, and it was perfect.
