You know, when I created this thread, I was actually quite happy with my user experience on NWR. In fact, I had been happy for about 2 months prior to that. I asked myself why and then I realized that Broodwars had pretty much stopped posting here which meant no one was getting upset over his posts. Ian Sane was still posting but to a very infrequent degree and he wasn't posting in his usual axe to grind of Nintendo being out of touch and lost manner. In fact, his posting for awhile now has been relatively tame. He'll still post of concern how Nintendo may make mistakes with the Switch but it is concerns others share and he's doing so in a way that is less hung up on the past. In fact, he almost seems cautiously optimistic for the Switch. And supermario2k had pretty much disappeared for months only to suddenly resurface right around this time which caused me to put up this poll. But with his absence prior, I realized that no one was really getting upset on these forums. There were no major arguments or forum controversies happening aside from MysticGohan arguing for AMD and even that was minor / mild. Things were peaceful and calm.
Since then supermario2k has disappeared again, reappeared again, sworn off the forums and nothing much else has changed. The only problem is that with the recent holiday season of late December there has been a slow down in posting from everyone in general which is to be expected. That's usually the case. This low activity seems to usually drag into the later part of January before an uptick begins. The upcoming Switch may change that but for how long remains to be seen. Still, it means that right now, checking into the forums is of the more perfunctory nature and there's not too much fun to be had. Which is why I'm trying to start livening things up again with some joke threads and the upcoming Khushrenada Week which won't be as big a disaster as some may be envisioning.
Still, after much complaining by forum members through out the years, I'm curious, because many of you have had for about half a year what you seemed to want. No Broodwars, Ian Sane is a relative non-factor and RAT only made a couple blip weeks of activity. Has your forum experience the past 6 months been positive, neutral or negative?
