Starter evolutions, training options and the return of features were spotlighted in the latest Pokémon Sun and Moon trailer released earlier today.

The starter evolutions are named Dartrix (Rowlet), Torracat (Litten) and Brionne (Popplio). No type or ability changes were noted in these forms, and they keep the traditional starter abilities.

Two new locations were announced: Festival Plaza, which features minigames to earn Festival Coins that can be traded for items or Pokémon training, and Poké Pelago which lets boxed Pokémon find other wild Pokémon, rare items or build experience or stats.

Mega Evolution, the trademark battle feature of the previous 3DS Pokémon games, will return though no new Mega Evolving Pokémon were shown. Classics such as Lucario, Kangaskhan and Salamence were spotlighted instead.

Finally, a "Special Demo Version" of Pokémon Sun and Moon will be released in all territories on October 18. The demo will feature Ash-Greninja, a previously anime-exclusive version of the Smash Bros character, who transforms with a "Battle Bond" ability. This variant of Greninja can be transferred to Pokémon Sun and Moon upon release.
