Not going to lie, not sending townie PM's is real lame. I easily could have gone this entire game not realising it had started.
Considering this is based on Sonic '06, I figure that was intentionally done as a bad move.

I literally posted because I saw the thread was open. I was watching and waiting for the game to start, which is why I was there. I was excited to play again.

But now I'm nailed on a bullshit technicality. I have no role, I just really wanted to play a game I love.

Stogi has the appearance of straightforward logic maker and investigator. Something else to bear in mind - pokepal specifically mentioned in his shitty day 0 thread that regular townies didn't get a PM, so anyone with decent reading comprehension would have gathered that much and could have avoided the thread if they felt it gave a competitive advantage by stating they didn't know the game started by day 1.

I don't think silenced is mafia, and is being the sacrificial lamb today, whether that's the day 1 bandwagoning or string pulling in a particular direction altogether is another question.

Ok, I'm willing to accept that and change my vote which is fine since I wanted to vote out Stevey on Day 1 anyways. Now that I've helped make sure Stevey's participation record stayed intact, I can kick him right out of the game.

Vote Stevey. It's a smart move. We don't remove an active player but instead someone who don't even expect to show up for the game. Rather than have the detective waste an investigation or leave his role a potential mystery, we can find out what it is now by eliminating him.

Now, some people may say, he's probably a townie. A host wouldn't give him a role in a back to back game of inactivity. Perhaps. But this is Pokepal148 so I wouldn't put it past him. Plus, removing an inactive player, even if it is a townie early in the game is a benefit to all townies. I've mentioned this in past games. An inactive townie member is actually helping the mafia control the vote. Chances are neither the killer or the mafia is going to target an inactive player for a hit because that player is no threat to them. So, why make it easier for the mafia or killer?

Do the right thing and vote him out.

So as Dasmos already alluded to, it seems like Pokepal chose to not send PM's to the townies without roles. But not only that, he also had an inconsequential day 0, meaning there would be a lack of PM conversations compared to the beginning of other games.

This points to those who participated in Day 0, especially early Day 0, as being the most likely to have a role. I came out and said I was the doctor. Taking me at my word that leaves four mafia and one investigator. This is a list of people who posted that day in order:

1.Silenced
2.Stratos
3.Khushrenada
4.NWR_insanolord
5.Mop_it_Up

That's five people. And it can't be a coincidence that I'm the 6th person to post.

7.Tophatant123
8.Lucario
9.Nickmitch
10.Tofufury

Posted later on that day as well.

So from this one clue, we can constrict our view of who's mafia down to a select few. This makes Silence the most likely in my book.

Your thoughts?

So, to make sure I'm not missing anything, you're only accusation of me being likely Mafia is that I posted early in the Day 0 thread? Not a good reason. At least in regards to me.

If you look at my post history, I started hosting Safe Words 10 on Friday and created a new thread series I'm eager to see how it develops called Run the Series. As such, I've been checking in regularly on the forums to watch over those threads. On late Saturday night, early Sunday morning, I checked in on the forums to see if a player had posted a guess in Safe Words and it turns out one did. That player was eliminated by their guess and I made a new post alerting TofuFury, who had to choose the next bomb word, that they were up.

When I woke up on Sunday, I logged on to the forums right away to see if TofuFury had made a selection for the next Safe Words category because I try to keep my Safe Words games moving along. As such, I check in on the forums regularly. He had not made a guess yet but I noticed the Mafia Forum had a new post. I checked it out and there was a Day 0 thread. I double checked my pm box but there was no role in it. Wondering if Pokepal148 was still sending out the roles after creating the thread since it had been newly created and maybe I was just early, I checked in on the thread and saw his blurb about not sending townies any pm message of their role. So, my goal at that point was to give Pokepal148 a hard time and criticise his hosting ability and that I did by posting that it could give players a chance to learn the identity of the detective. Perhaps sensing this flaw, I think Pokepal148 left the thread open for most of Sunday before starting Day 1.

As for me, I then knew the game was on and so would keep up to date with the thread as I continued my hosting of Safe Words and checking on my Run the Series thread as well. Sometimes a person is just active on the forums because they like to be and have other things they are posting about and not because they were given a role in a game.

Just like with questionable evidence in court, I'm choosing to throw out something like who got a PM as that seems like a cheap way of playing the game.

Instead, it's time for good ol' fashioned first-day guessing.

I agree. I had not realized that pokepal posted this fact in day 0 thread. And even while forming my argument, I still hadn't realized it. And as such I rescind my argument.

Now I'm back to having really no basis in voting Silence so I'll change my vote to Vote Stevey with Khush. We'll see what happens tomorrow.

Actually, you know what? Silenced hadn't made your argument lolmonade, meaning he hadn't seen Pokepal's announcement, which means my argument still stands. And if he turns out to be mafia, i know who's next...the person that willingly stayed away from the thread and just now defended mafia.

Which is a worse blunder, Pokepal being too lazy to send out PMs to townies and causing an early witch hunt, or me forgetting to tell the mafia who each other were in the NewsRadio-themed game?

If it means anything, I am indeed a townie. I checked in based off of my excitement for the game, so I was there when Day 0 opened up. Right now I'm being shipped out just because pokepal is a **** host, which isn't fair at all to me, especially when the bias against me is just so blatant right now.

Well, I wouldn't worry about it, Silenced. You're cool in my book, and it's just some irrelevant game in the grand scheme of board politics. I like you like I like Town Mission 2's theme in Sonic 06. Good rockin' song. Tomoya Ohtani really is an underrated composer.

Ha ha ha! Well, at least your situation has accomplished one positive thing for the future.

Now, if you want to do something about it, vote already and join the potential stevey bandwagon which is the only other legit bandwagon that others may consider voting along with to save yourself today. Second bit of advice, quit trying to argue it out with Stogi today. It'll only annoy other players causing them to vote for you or might make them think Stogi is actually on to something.
