Hey everyone! We've got a video game fact show on YouTube, and we're big Nintendo fans, so we frequently produce episodes full of interesting facts about Nintendo games and characters.
We'd love to share them with you and get your feedback.

Unless they are telling me how they can't believe their mother makes $2786 a week working from home and wants to tell me how I can do that too, or telling us about a questionable meat product in a can that is popular in Hawaii, then I don't think it's spam.

But it's a person who hasn't been a part of the community suddenly signing up to advertise their own site and wares. I highly doubt ISE_Rob is going to suddenly start sticking around and joining in forum discussion. There's plenty of open threads on different topics that he could have made a comment or two on if he's a Nintendo fan but he clearly has shown he's only come here to post links to his videos and then tapped out in an attempt to drum up more viewers for his YouTube channel in a quixotic attempt to become the next Pewdiepie or something. So, a freshly created one-time use account shows up and makes a thread saying, "Hey guys, you like [s[foreign wives[/s] Nintendo stuff?. Then click these links I've posted." It seems very spam like to me. The only difference is that since it is a Nintendo related subject, it isn't an obvious spam designation and other users will post links to Nintendo videos or topics. So, it falls in this borderline area where it could be seen as non-spam also.

In the end, this discussion on what constitutes spam and advertising on the forum will probably be more entertaining than any of the videos posted.

I figure it's spam.  I was more making a joke since I see those one time posting users pop up a lot on other community driven sites that state similar to what I said.

Well, without the request for a sale, it's difficult to label such a post as "spam".  However, this is uninvited marketing of some kind by an until-now outsider.  This is a tough call, Khush.  You certainly have your work cut out for you on this one.  I recommend you at least give those charged a chance to defend their self.

Ah, yes. The complications of modern commerce.  Though I suppose without requiring the viewer to exchange currency of any kind, the risk to the forum community is quite low, at least lower than normal.  Maybe enough for a "no harm, no foul" call?

Well, I haven't tossed this thread in the recycle bin or banned the user so that tells you my call on it. That said, I knew the user probably wasn't going to stick around so I hijacked the topic to call his stuff spam which most likely isn't what he was going for with his post. I highly doubt we'll see a return by the user to defend their work. But it seems ThePerm is in league with them to help promote the videos so I'll let that serve as their defense.

In the end, this happens pretty infrequently but it has always irked me whenever some person creates an account to quickly self-promote some work and then move on to their next site to create an account and advertise there. Now I've got the power to call these users out and, by gum, I'm going to use it!

The videos were well made and horrible.  I couldn't stand them, though I could never look away.  The greatest of all time to the worst of all time in a span of spam.
