Topic: metroid prime...Help! I'm melting!

Have been having lots of fun with MP but am stuck in magmoor trying to get the artifact of strength.  I know where to go and how to get there, I just can't seem to do it.  Double jumping with the new boots seems easy when I practice, but once I get up on top of the monitor tower (IF  I get there...) I can't make the jump over to that skinny ledge.  ultimately, after 20 or so tries, falling into the lava, I die.

Can someone save me?

Well, if I remember correctly, there should be a spinner device under one of the computers that will extend a small bridge that will give you enough extra space so you can make the jump.

thanks for your input, but I have the bridge extended and still fail to make the leap.  what am I doing wrong?  I have fallen at least a dozen times and figure I must be doing something wrong cause it cant be that hard.

You are standing right below the ledge right? on the walkway. Just double jump then move over a little to land on the upper ledge. Maybe you are trying to jump from far away? You should be able to walk right up to the edge.

I must be doing something wrong.  I get up on top, I get the bridge extended as far as it will extend and I can make the leap, I end up falling to ground level every time and have to climb all the way back up again.  Is there a way to further extend the bridge?  I'm jumping straight ahead, should I jump to the left or right? Should I double jump or single jump?  Is there something I'm not seeing?  So far this game has been doable but I am like totally stuck here.

Is the ledge locking into place after you use the spinner? If it hasnt locked it will just fall back down. Keep spinning until it locks in place. Walk right up to the ledge, it should be right above you and a little to one side. Just doble jump straight up and move a little forward to land on the ledge. Maybe you are looking at the wrong edge, or trying to jump from too far away? It is right above the lower platform.

Also, you want to jump FAR, not HIGH, so stretch that first jump as far as you can before hitting the space jump. You should be able to nail it after a couple tries.
