well, a fanboy is normally regarded as a religious fanatic who is incapable of rational thought.  Therefore they should be flamed at every opportunity.    Personally though, I think that a fanboy is more like a patriot.  If someone is talking smack about your country, you are likely to defend it.  Some people are better at it than others of course, and there are a few PS2 people that I can actually have an intelligent conversation with that more resembles a political debate than a flame war.  I have yet to find an Xbox fan that I can talk with though.

But these forums are great.  Overall, they are a place where a Nintendo fan can go and talk freely without worrying about someone basically saying that your opinion doesn't count simply because you support one console above another.  There are a few trolls of course, but the mods can't really do much about (him) while he isn't technically breaking any rules.  I do sometimes wonder why such people bother to stick around though if they hate us so much.  

But yes, I really do appreciate the moderation here.  They are prompt when called, and they allow us a fair bit of leeway, while upholding the rules at the same time.

I see a fanboy as a mindless and completely biased autonaut of the corporate entity and disregard all rational thought, reason, and logic. FAN is a word I'd used to describe 99% of the people on this board, not fanBOY.

Anyway, this is all a suck up anyway.

Nah, it's a sign of appreciation.  Sucking up would be when you are saying the same words, but don't really mean it.  I can't speak for everyone, but I assure you that when I say something nice about someone, it's heartfelt.  I don't give out meaningless compliments.
