Should Sega release another Genesis complimation?
« on: July 01, 2003, 05:44:54 PM »
I say that Sega should use the emulator in Mega Collection to produce another Genesis complimation. With all the Vectorman games, the Golden Axe games, Streets of Rages, Ecco the Dolphin etc. Hopefully without any 'unlockables' and maybe a better memorabilia section than what Mega Collection offered.

Sadly, Sega's taking a page from Nintendo's GBA-strategy book and is rereleasing old Genesis games as value software on the PS2.  And not even in comps either.

I would kill for a Shining Force two pack on the GBA. Streets of Rage and a near aracade perfect Golden Axe would be tight as well, but Shining Force would be an instant sale for me. Combined with Advance Wars and Fire Emblem, the GBA would undoublty rule the strategy genre.

For some reason I'm not to thrilled with a Genesis complilation on the GC. I would rather see the more obscured Saturn games show up on the GameCube while the Gameboy gets the Genesis ports.

The Mega Sonic Collection (or whatever it's called) was a perfect fit for Gamecube. First off, the Sonic series is very popular on Gamecube, probably most popular. And a lot of the material (i'd assume the game ROMs) was the same from Sonic Jam on Saturn. i doubt we'll be seeing more Sega collection on GC though. As dafunkk12 said, they're bringing some of their older games to PS2, likely in part because of the larger userbase.
