Build Your Own Sattelite.

Heh.  Just kidding.  It's actually a pretty cool flash demo.    You basically have a planet with a natural sattelite, and you can put artificial ones in orbit by setting their starting position and speed.

I have managed to keep 2 in a low orbit for the last 10 minutes, and I just added two more that seem to be doing quite well.    It's kind of fun and addicting.  Here's the link.

Haha- this thing is friggin's awesome. I had 4 in varying orbits for about 5 minutes and one crashed, and now 3 are going strong. Great find.

Heh.  My 4 are still flying nicely.  I do have one or two pop in at a very high speed from outside the range of the screen now and then, but it's a pretty rare occurance.

Interestingly enough... I have finally managed to get one sattelite going in a stable counterclockwise orbit.  I didn't think it possible before now...  All my others crashed...  This one is actually in a pretty high orbit too, which is surprising, as the moon has a very damaging effect to the orbits of the ones in counterclockwise patterns.

Bah... it just crashed... but I do have another in a very low orbit that seems to be doing fine.

NOOOOO!! I had 2 going for like 10 minutes and then they both crashed! Oh the humanity! I tink I've got the hang of getting satellites staying in orbit for quite awhile bu I haven't gotten a steady orbit yet.

Man- I had a satellite going in a steady counterclockwise orbit, too, but now it's going all eraditic like. Those scientists really have their work cut out for them.

I don't think it's possible to have them in a steady circular orbit.  The moon would prevent that unless you managed to keep one EXACTLY between the moon and the planet.  That being said, I just crashed 2 of my sattelites by overloading the poor program with about a million new ones trying to achieve just that.

I had one satellite orbit the moon a few times, but it got too far away and crashed.

Ah crotch- my two good ones both crashed right after eachother. I've got another one going, but I don't think it'll last.

Yep, it crashed too.

Now I've got two in low orbit and a couple that'll disappear for a couple minutes then reappear again. Crazy go nuts. O_O
