I normally feel bad about someone losing there job but, I can't for anyone who has a Golden Parachute.  Them getting fired is like me not having to work for the rest of my life at my current wages.

You and probably you're immediate family too.

The hackers are also threatening to attack theaters that play The Interview "9/11" style. This **** is getting a little too serious for my blood.

Bring it on, bitch. This is America. The land of the free. The home of the brave. If you want to kill us over a movie, then obviously we're doing something right.

I didn't drop that in this thread because they denied the last threats that were made against the Sony employees, so I'm not so sure they made these ones either.

as far as I know only Variety was reporting it, and as reliable as they are, I think it's a false ass threat anyway.

They better ship out all the info they got, and do it quickly, because we will probably have a story in 2-3 months of about 6 basements getting raided and 4-5 young men getting arrested for cyber terrorism and corporate invasion and sabotage or something.

They're getting real desperate in their attempts to convince people they're actually from North Korea.

I like to imagine this is Disney trying to wrest control of Spiderman back from Sony.

I hope it is the only theatre that gets attacked. The irony would be delicious.

Now I have this urge to see this movie twice AND buy the bootleg.

(and I don't think North Korea had anything to do with this treat)

When it was announced that theaters had started pulling screenings, I immediately asked my fave theater if they were still showing and planned to go just out of spite.  Initially, they said they still had it on the schedule, but 10 mins ago, they just posted on their Facebook that they were pulling it.

Boo.  Thumbs down.  Terrorists win.

I don't think the hackers will stop.  They have too much power with this.  You never give in to terrorists, especially when they already have your data.

Sony Cancels the Theatrical Release for The Interview
http://variety.com/2014/film/news/sony-cancels-theatrical-release-for-the-interview-on-christmas-1201382032/

and sources say that the US Gov. has stated that N. Korea is responsible for the Sony Hacks.

http://www.nytimes.com/2014/12/18/world/asia/us-links-north-korea-to-sony-hacking.html?smid=tw-bna&_r=1
Quote
"American intelligence officials have concluded that the North Korean government was “centrally involved” in the recent attacks on Sony Pictures’s computers, a determination reached just as Sony on Wednesday canceled its release of the comedy, which is based on a plot to assassinate Kim Jong-un, the North Korean leader."

Yup.

Funny - Two hours ago, Wired ran an article titled "North Korea Did Not Hack Sony."
Roughly an hour ago, it was released that NK did hack Sony.

Original WIRED article (although with a new name):

I'm still skeptical. The email that came out a few days before the hacking from the hackers to Sony execs never stated they wanted "The Interview" to never release. It said they wanted money, lots of it. You would think that they would still want money and further extort Sony but instead they flipped their motives. Why? It doesn't make sense.

In lighter news

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/texas-theater-show-team-america-759037

A theater in Texas will show Team America in place of The Interview.

Well, basically. NK didn't themselves hack Sony. They hired some third-party to do the dirty work. For all we know, it really was a couple of 15-year olds.
