Topic: Did anyone else buy Fantasy Life?

I was able to get the game on release, but I've only put about five hours into it. I chose the Paladin as my first life, and I've been defeating cute monsters, fulfilling tasks, beefing up my gear, and enjoying the game immensely. It's part RPG, part Animal Crossing, all fun.

Did anyone pick this up?

I've been on the fence about it. It hasn't really been on my radar but I keep hearing such good things about it. However, Smash Bros. 3DS is still taking up my time along with fall TV that I've put off worrying about getting this anytime soon. It's something I could see myself buying a year from now. No urgency to play it.

I hope to play more Fantasy Life soon, but I have other games I have to cover first.

Yeah, I bought this on release and it's pretty much the only game I've played since then. Unfortunately, that also means that I'm way ahead, but, I'd still be up for multiplayer for anyone who would like it. I can use weak weapons or something if that would be preferable. I also plan to buy the DLC though so I may not be able to play with non-DLC people for much longer.

Screw Smash Bros, this will probably be my game of the year!

I'm frustrated that they are putting artificial roadblocks in my way to becoming a fish expert and how they trolled me by showing me the Lord Fish in a story area I could not get back to that day.

Seriously enough...  I just found out the reason that I couldn't fish in Lava Cave was that I needed to defeat enemies to bring down the barriers... I'm a Fisherman not a Soldier... I'm level 15 and I only have a Dagger skill of 2...

I finally got to a place in the story where I can get my allies and my general strategy has been little hits of opportunity and a lot of hiding behind meat shields.  Which let me finally get my Lava fish except for the Lord fish in Lava area.

Well, this week will be busy with holiday stuff, but if you want to try again tomorrow (Tuesday) around the same time, that would probably be the only day this week that I could make it. It depends on what are your goals for the game. If all you're looking to do is complete the story, that'll be around 10 hours. If you want to max out your starting Life and complete all its challenges, add another 10-20, depending on which Life you chose. If you want to max all twelve Lives, you're definitely looking at over 100 hours. And that's before I even mention the side quests and other things.

There is also a DLC pack for the game that adds a new area, two story chapters, more challenges for each Life, raises the level caps, and adds a few other odds and ends.

Nah it's all right mate, I know things happen. Especially about the holidays. I can sometimes be flaky myself, so I don't get bothered if someone else does it. Keep me posted!

Yeah, sorry mate, but after playing MH3 on both Wii and Wii U, I've had enough of that game.

DLC is $8.99. It is already on the cartridge so the size is 2 blocks. The really sucky thing about the DLC though is that if you have it, you can't play online with people who don't have it, and vice versa.
