Found the $10 eShop Cards featuring the Photos with Mario AR cards on them at Target today...

Is that how you get the cards? I may just pick some up since it gives you the eShop credit and the app is free that uses them.

I thought you had to buy special cards that would have no other use. I plan of getting some eShop cards because I don't think I want to give my bank account info to a console manufacturer anymore.

Yup - Pretty sure they're exclusive to Target (in the states, at least)...

So how does this work, exactly? Does a pack of AR cards come with a $10 eShop card, or is the eShop card itself an AR card? Do you have to buy more than one $10 card to get all the AR cards? How many AR cards are there?

A $10 eShop card gives you $10 of eShop credit and a singular AR card that you can use with the Photos with Mario 3DS app.  There are currently three cards (Mario, Goomba, Peach) with three more already out in Japan.

Of course, you can just download pictures of the 3DS cards online. ;)

Shame on you, UncleBob. A good collector never settles for cheap printed off versions of memorabilia...

(Maybe I have done that in the past)
