Topic: No Phantasy Star Online 2 in the states?

So hear we go again, with another game that is already translated into english but due to fears of low sales will not have a release in the states. This is a shame too because I really wanted to get back into the world of Phantasy Star. I loved playing the Episode 1 and 2 collection back on the GameCube, and had a blast playing Phantasy Star IV on the Sonic Genisis Collection.

My brother was playing the Japanese PC version for a while. I even had a character I was leveling up was tagging along for experience points. It was pretty fun. I believe Phantasy Star Online 2 is free to download and play (not sure if the Vita version is). Sega is relying on ads and micro-transactions to profit which may not be enough to support the game's servers and whatnot in North America so I understand the apprehension in bringing the game over here.

Sega might not even bother at this point since it was supposed to out early 2013. Extra upsetting is that they currently don't have plans to localize Phantasy Star Nova either. With the greater focus on story and single-player, it's probably a safer release than Phantasy Star Online 2 even if it is only on Vita. Phantasy Star 0 took over a year to be localized so maybe there's hope. I won't hold my breath though.

If the game's already in English I don't see how it wouldn't be worth releasing even if it's only digital. I really want this on my Vita, as I was a big fan of the Dreamcast game and I'd prefer the sci-fi trappings of this over the stuff in Monster Hunter.

Meh, I've never been a big Phantasy Star fan, especially after playing PSO on GameCube. I love my Vita, but I just don't see myself playing PSO 2 on the Vita with all the other stuff there is to play on it right now and in the near future.
