GBA successor revealed????

spong.com has done it again and "supposedly" revealed some info on the next Gameboy.  It looks like it'll use a hard drive or something similar.  You can transfer game from another console.  This sounds like a perfect solution for Nintendo's next Gameboy to be backwards compatible without making the system bulky by adding an extra catridge slot.  It could be used to save game and much more.  I hope it's true but either way, you know Nintendo is taking the PSP serious and getting ready to take it head on.

[the] portable game machine that can be placed into a "download mode" when no game cartridge is inserted into the portable game machine.

If you read the quoted portions and ignore Spong's speculation, this sounds exactly like what happens between the GC and GBA. It also sounds like a patent filing from a couple years back. Even if it was something for the next Gameboy, it's hardly news-worthy.

Did anyone notice that Nintendo had a SD digital card in their GameBoy display, at this years E3?  I'm just curious if this is a hint of things to come.  It would also be a nice solution for those who want to play NES emus on GBA without buying an expensive and illeagal Flash Rom Cart.

Still, your probably right, this report may in fact be flase.  Still interesting though.

Not only will it have a HDD but it will also have some classic games pre-installed ready to play built-in for free.

$ony's PSP is competition for Nintendo but it also isnt competition because Nintendo's handhelds are focused on gaming-only while $ony's platforms are multi-media platforms that use gaming because if it where just multi-media then theres a huge range to choose from out there like PDAs, but $ony use & abuse the gaming markets to sell its slightly above-average mainstreamy all-in-one rather than specialist products.

If Nintendo's partnership with Panasonic continues then garanteed there will be an SD card slot on the next handheld and it will more than adequately be more universal than the $ony memory sticks. The SD card slot will be used for those gamers that dont take their handheld online to DL content instead use an SD card to transfer data?

My most wanted component would be the new Kodak screens which are superior to anything else out there and $ony recently announced it wil be making its own LCD screens for its products from now on so theyre ($ony) already inferior from the word go.

However I dont see Nintendo & Kodak working together because Kodak is western ...where M$ resides.

From what I've read, they're using those SD adaptors so people can watch TV shows on their GBAs. Supposedly you can either download them onto the SD cards from the internet or from special kiosks in stores. I've seen a GBASP playing an episode of Pokemon using the adaptor. I think it's going to be Japan only so far though... still, interesting and probably a taste of things to come.

Myself I have thought that nintendo may use sd cards in the next gameboy although the big problem with this is that the games would be very simple to pirate. Also I agree that nintendo could have a protection but then you could just build a modchip for the gba and with the easy accessibility to sd cards it would be a big problem for nintendo.

4 Kids announced that it would release episodes of shows they translate/publish onto GBA carts, and they're company is in Canada. So i'm guessing a US/Canada release.
