Author Topic: GameBoy Advance Player Pre-Sales Sold Out! (Read 5889 times)

I'm in a huge dilema. I live in a major city in the US. Like a fool, I didn't place a pre-order on a GameBoy Advance Player, assuming I wouldn't have a problem getting one. Well today I realized how wrong and stupid I really was.
I went to over a dozen different stores and every single one of them had sold out their pre-sales WEEKS AGO!

How could I be so stupid?! Now I'm left wondering how long it will be before I can get my hands on this peice of hardware. You still can't find GBA:SP's in my area.

Is anyone else having this problem? Also, this is a serious word of warning, if you don't have a pre-sale placed on a GBA-Player, and you wan't one, GET TO THE STORE NOW! Don't end up like me

im lucky to have a big store in a smallish area of the city, so i can pick stuff up on release pretty easy

but thanks for the heads up, ill make sure not to delay getting it

There is still a good chance you can get a GBA Player. Nintendo uses the pre-orders to see how much to ship. Zelda had 600,000 pre-orders so Nintendo ships like a million games.

This really sucks you guys

I called another twelve stores in my area and still no luck. I'm actually thinking about driving out to a rural area on the release day, hoping to find a Wal-Mart that may have them available. A guy I spoke to at Best-Buy was actually saying he might do the same thing, lol! Apparently customers come before employes at his store, and he can't get one either.

Well, anyway, I'll let you know how my quest turns out. So far things aren't looking good. Wish me luck

Man, in my city, it took over a month before I found a GBA:SP. Another stupid decision on my part. I thought "I don't need a pre-sale." Sigh* A month later I finally got my system. GB-Player has got me even more excited than the GBA:SP.

I can't wait to re-play the CastleVania and the Golden Sun games on my tv. Two series whose games truly deserve the big screen treatment.

Oh man, I've loved the GB-Tv concept since the SuperGameBoy for Super Nintendo. So games just deserve to be on the big screen.

Sif! GBA screen owns teh tv screen! The whole point of gameboy games is to allow "portable" gaming.

Hey, GBP can be portable! Just spend a few thousand on extension cables for the GC and TV and BAM!
Tape the GC to your back, and the TV to your gut and off you go!

I don't have a GBA SP, but I want it more than a GBP, so meh.
I might get it.
It depends on some of the money saving measures I take.
The first was to burn the Spirited Away OST instead of buying it so that's $35 saved.
Next is to get the Animatrix and Spirited Away LE DVD for my birthday, so that's like 60-70 bucks saved.
Next is let save my $30 a week allowance, and BAM! that's the GBP in the bag.

I've already got the Spirited Away OST burned. so yay!

If it was a retailer like Electronics Boutique or Gamestop, i'd just be there when they sell the GBP. Somebody's bound to have a few extra, and i doubt there'll be people who didn't preordered filling the stores trying to get them. It's not a console launch.

Places like Target (retailers that don't focus on games) should definitely have some. If that doesn't work, drive out to a rural area to like a Wal-Mart and pick one up. But i doubt you'll have much trouble getting one in the city.

I agree with mario. I have my GBA and that's all I need. I'll keep the $50 for a game (or is it 60) if they had kept the price down at $40 I probably would have gotten it though. But more importantly, why don't you just order one online?

You can get the GB Player at cduniverse.com for $10 cheaper than most other places. They are selling it for $39.99. Shipping is only $2.99 for First Class. This is where I ordered it. I have never preordered anything from them before so I have no idea how quickly they will ship, but if you are looking for the best price and a place where it is available, I would recommend there.

I live in the West part of Wichita Kansas (Biggest city in Kansas) and no one here likes the Cube. We still have plenty of Cube stuff. U guys remember when all of you were stressin cuz u couldn't find a broadband adapter 4 ur precious cube? Well, the walmart by me had so many they were stocked full in the electronics department, they had some left over so they went and put them at the front of the store when u first walk in!!! We still have lots of GBA-Sp's and Cubes. I am sure it is the same way with the pre-orders for the GB-Player

The GBA Player should've been available at launch. It would've been an even greater Cube incentive to members of the existing pre-Cube GBA market.

Everyone at school wants one! My DAD wants one! Jesus, Nintendo should have released this a year ago, at launch like Professional (look up) said. Eegads!
