So I watched Captain America: The Winter Soldier with my daughter
She was pretty into this one. It doesn't hurt that it was pretty much action from start to finish. But I also made sure she stayed engaged throughout by pausing the movie to make sure she recognized certain characters (Old Peggy vs Young Peggy from Cap1, and then the same for Old Bucky v New Bucky aka TWS) and followed what was going on.
When I asked her about her favorite parts, it was "the sad parts" and when I asked her to elaborate a little, she said "the parts where everyone was getting shot, like Nick Fury and Captain America".
So she was really into the scene where Fury got ambushed in his car, and she really liked the final battle at the end where it came down to Cap vs Buck and to quote her "when he wouldn't give up on his friend". I asked her what her most favorite scene was was specifically, she said "when Nick Fury got out the helicopter" and that was the scene were Black Widow revealed herself to the Council, took the Pierce captive, Fury revealed himself to be alive by getting off the chopper and then Pierce took back control, but Black Widow electrocuted herself to disarm the electronic pen she was wearing and took herself away as a useful hostage, allowing Fury to take down Pierce once and for all.
So I was quite relieved that she enjoyed TWS, as this is still on the top of my MCU list.
She immediately claimed that Ironman 1 is still her favorite movie, and as usual cites the scene where Tony is trying to escape the cave, the guy tried to shoot iM in the head, but the bullet bounces off and he ends up killing himself instead. LMAO oh, she loves that scene so much.
Well, Next up is Guardians of the Galaxy.
I know she's seen this one before, as she is very familiar with Rocket and Groot, so no worries on if she will like this one or not.
I've kinda accelerated our watch schedule due to free time, and trying to pull her away from Zelda for a few extra hours a day. If I can slip in an extra movie this week, and an extra movie next week, we will be able to get through Civil War the day before going to watch Black Panther.
