It's not so much the continuity of the grand story arch, but the small details of the characters.

The best part of Avengers isn't that the story's led to the team-up, it was that the team up was of a bunch of characters you got to know beforehand.

Just wouldn't want someones first experience w/ the MCU to be to jump into Avengers, and then straight to AoU and then not see what made it all so special to begin with. It's the build up to the payoffs. The payoffs of course being the Avengers movies, and them most recently Civil War (which was Cap 3 and Avengers 2.5)

Even though Avengers and AoU are much better movies than what DCCU has produced so far, I wouldn't want anyone getting a BvS rushing to the promise lands vibe from it all.

I've been too lazy to post it, but there is all sorts of casting news for Spider-man: Homecoming out there.

There is also rumors of Doc Strange, Capt Marvel and Thor 3 casting/footage/news to be revealed at SDCC. Also some rumors regarding The Defenders and Netflix Phase 2 (Midnight Sons?)

I posted a pic of the Doc Strange Pop! toy, but I didn't post the Doc Strange Disney Infinity figure... :( I'll post that when I run across it again.

And apparently Wanda and Pietro were in discussions for DI as well, but applications were denied before the game was ultimately axed. Internal Legal Politics at play? who knows....

I take it the Doc Strange thing will be a new trailer? There shouldn't be much more to reveal before the film debuts.

Capt Marvel isn't filming yet, right? So maybe casting and a villain?

Makes me sad to see DI cancelled. It was just finding its footing and the figures were all beautiful. There was a really nice custom Deadpool figure someone paid to have made. So I half hope some fans keep the series going in some indie capacity.

I think the whole thing will be replaced with CGI, like what was done with Vision. Tom Holland's face is too wide, you can tell that all of his scenes were edited in Civil War, except when he's laying on the ground with his mask coming off. Also there are too many lines on that costume...it's almost looking like the Amazing Spider-Man movie costume in some ways. I wish Marvel would have gone with the original black and red color scheme.
