Samsung's Android dominance

Does Samsung's Android dominance mean that every other manufacturer (HTC, Sony, LG) should just give up?

No. Should ASUS give up making PCs because HP sells more? If you can make money, then make money.

Well everyone (market analysts) is predicting HTC's death because they can't keep up with Samsung. Yet no one says anything about LG or Sony in this regard.

LG is more of a price leader these days, at least from what I've seen. I assume HTC is gonna find its place in the market too.

I was under the impression that Samsung has turned into Apple with their latest smartphone and tablet tech.

That's an accurate assumption. Just look at BestBuy these days: big ass apple section, big ass Samsung Galaxy section.

HTC does one thing. LG and Sony have other businesses.

I know LG and Sony do other things. I was just saying that no one expects them to leave the phone business even though their market share is behind Samsung. Why does HTC get such a bad rap?

Maybe HTC should just get bought out by one of the bigger companies (preferably LG or Sony). Even with the success of the  HTC One, they're still struggling?

Or maybe HTC need to diversify their product catalog. Get into toasters and microwaves or something.

LG and Sony can afford to sustain losses going for longer-term gains (or just smaller margins). It's not their core business.

Nope t emans these fuckers should have backed Windows Phone or Meego much harder. Its sad when HTC is considered the 2nd most succesful android [hone maker yet the comapny is near deaths door. Android Fragmentaion is less of a problem and now its that Samsung has become more popular.

Its sad that the only company who can sell a High Quality device these days is Apple.

HTC was a dead comapny when they lost the Nexus line and when Samsung became a giant.

Since Motorola is owned by Google, maybe they're the best choice for someone new to the Android ecosystem. They are guaranteed to be around for the long term.

Google should buy HTC. They turned around Motorola, so they could do the same for HTC.

No they shouldn't, for many reasons - one of them being that Motorola is a US-based company and HTC is in Taiwan.
