i vaguely remember hearing something about a nintendo project called megaton around 6 months ago.  i'm pretty sure it was determined to be a rumor/hoax, but i never really found out what it was supposed to be.  can someone fill me in?  thanks.

It was a pain in me ass, i know that.  It turned out to be some Japanese magazine writers(where Megaton first surfaced) were getting their names in some game or something stupid.

After I think it was the tokyo game show, VJump Magazine said there was a major announcement abotu video games. So massive rumors sprouted everywhere, I mean EVERYWHERE. For gods sake Penny Arcade mocked it. Well it turned out that a comic charachter from VJump was being made into a video game and that was it. Riots ensued.

Yeah, its true! Yesterday i was babysitting some kid whos second cousins with some guy who runs the shop where Miyamoto bought his pet goldfish and he told me! OMG MEGATON!!! I KNOW WHAT IT IS BUT I CANT SAY IT!!! OMFG YOUR ALL GONNA LOVE IT!!! NINTENDO WILL BE NUMBER ONE!!!

it better be a new janitorial simulator! with curvy pre rendered mops!

i missed the whole megaton thing too, i was following it from the time something about a huge nintendo announcement (aka the megaton) and then i must have fallen into a coma or something, came out and had nfi what was going on

I should probably also mention that the game V-Jump was talking about was apparently "Naruto".

It debuted at #4 on the Dengeki charts in Japan last April, and has been holding at a solid 17th place for a while now.

The comic book it was based on is coming out now in the English version of Shonen Jump.
