Style Savvy Trendsetters

Who enjoys playing Style Savvy Trendsetters?
I learned of it when I ran across the first demo in the eshop. I thought I would have no use for a game like that, but boy was I wrong! I purchased the game and since then I have been really addicted to it.
Does anyone else here know of, or play the game?

Ive actually been considering getting this for awhile, I have been holding out for a cheaper price though.

Heard good things about it,  so I'll give it a whirl, eventually.

My GF is playing this game and loves the heck out it. I haven't checked it out, but there are a lot of features it offers.

My daughter LOVED the 2 demos for this game and has been begging me to buy it for her for half a year.  She's already gone through all of her allotted "uses" for both demos.     But I can't bring myself to spend $40 on it, when there are similar games in this genre cost 99cents on IOS.  I've been kind of lying to my daughter and telling her it's not out yet.    I'm willing to spend...oh, $20 for a used copy, but for some reason, this game absolutely REFUSES to get marked down.  $30 on Amazon?  That's getting closer, but not close enough.

And though I haven't played a second of it, my daughter swears that it is over and above so much better than anything similar on IOS.

[Showing off game collection]

Oh yeah, I know I have 2 sealed copies of that game.   1 is for trading.  But people who collect Amiibos?  They really have a problem!

I'm no an expert in IOS games let alone style sims on the platform, but I have heard that this Style Savvy has much more than the DS game as well as any game currently out there. Here's a run down of the features: You can run your own online shop that people you StreetPass can visit and buy items, Spot Pass updates designs for clothes that you can sell in your shop, Local Multiplayer is a fashion show for up to four players- winner gets clothes!, AR Photo shoot- this is probably loads of fun with the giant AR card and there is an in-game demo for friends to try.
Also my GF keeps mentioning how the characters are mentioning weather related dialogue that coincides with our weather directly- not like "Oh it's cold today", but more like "I want to shop before the storm tomorrow". Based on that we figured the game will have seasonal trends for designs and wardrobes so expect lots of updates for new clothes and stuff.
So yeah this game is stuffed and looks to be a rather ambitious title. I read the Iwata Asks, but they actually didn't mention much about the game at all, but focused on their playing styles. I hope that sheds some light on the game for anyone on the fence about this.

Its a Nintendo published game so just like all their first party titles it won't be marked down. Because Nintendo took the risk to publish this I would think Style Savvy is a higher quality game than any game of a comparable genre on IOS.

All IOS games tend to give you a gimped version of the game for a small fee then continually throw out some kind of bait to get you spending more money through various micro transactions. A full retail game gives you the experience the creators intended from start to finish.

Its like the difference between:
paying a large entry fee to a theme park and going on all the rides for free
and
getting in to a theme park for free and paying for each and every ride

Paying for that one entry fee removes some of the stress of having to manage your finances. You've paid it, its over and done with, now there's only time for fun.

I will make a bold claim and say you would have a lesser entertainment value if you spent $40 worth on IOS games than if you spent it on Style Savvy.

Style Savvy: Trendsetters is a big games of dress-up, (I don't care how old I get--dress-up is so much fun!) but it is more than that. In order for your shop to be successful, you must buy the clothes that your customers will like. You have to choose wisely when selecting an item or outfits for your customers. You get to name your shop and redecorate the interior and exterior of it to attract customers with certain tastes. Making people happy fills up your appropriately named happiness jar, which, when full, makes something good happen when the day is over. One of the things you unlock as the game progresses is the Fashion Plaza, where you can buy outfits made by other players. You can open your own online shop and make up to three outfits which other people may buy, thus giving you a profit, added to your shop funds.

Believe me, I've only scratched the surface of this game. This game is good for not just a few weeks to beat it and then lay it aside. You see the credits two times, but the game by no means ends there. Though at the beginning you are more limited in what you do, you are always unlocking new things. You can change your clothes, redecorate your apartment, change your hair color and style, choose from many makeup possibilities, and participate in fashion contests. You will make friends with the people in the game; sometimes they ask you to meet them in special places and will fill up your happiness jar a bit. If you like collecting things, there are over 12,000 clothing items to add to your closet. Think that will keep you busy for a while? Not all clothing is available at once, though; the clothing is divided into seasons. There are four seasons and each one lasts for three months.

There has been only one release of downloadable content so far (GracieGrace clothes from Animal Crossing) but we have been promised more. The downloadable content, of course, is completely free.

I had never heard of Style Savvy: Trendsetters until I ran across the first demo in the eshop, as I stated in my first post. I was very doubtful about the game, but I also like try out all the demos anyway. I enjoyed it so much I exhausted the five uses I had for it and was nearly sold on the idea of getting it.  That just goes to show you that you can't judge a book by it's cover, eh? The second demo was not as much fun (darn slow wi-fi) but I liked being able to dress up my character. For anyone who has yet to get the game, I suggest downloading the second demo, starting it and after saving, begin the game. If you have save data from the demo, you can transfer it when you start the full version of the game and it is nice because you will have a few more clothes in your closet to start with.

It is, to say the least, a very addicting game. Many times I've been playing it and keep telling myself, "Just one more customer and I'll put this down." Ten customers later I'm still at it. I feel that this game was completely worth the $40 I paid for it. I doubt I'd be much interested in another fashion game, but this one has got me!
