I really want this game, and I'm debating on whether I should get them on both systems. My question is, how easy is it to transfer files? Is it as easy as the Vita/PS3, or not? Is it something that can be done in less than 30 seconds?

(Also, when the hell is the Circle Pad Pro XL coming to the US?)

Curious about this as well.

Still debating if I should get both. I eventually want both but not sure if I'll even put the 3DS version to good use. Thinking the extra money might be better spent on Luigi's Mansion instead.

If Nintendo releases that all-black 3DS XL with Monster Hunter 3DS pre-installed in North America then I will buy that with the Wii U game, and an actual Wii U.

You got that kinda cash on hand?

That's atleast $550 before tax.
just over $600 if you want your Wii U to match your black 3DSXL

I hope not long, I look to buy both versions.

Amazon is currently doing a deal, where if you preorder both 3DS and Wii U in the same checkout, they will only cost $80 total. I'm doing that unless Best Buy matches the deal, which I would rather use since I have gift cards to BB.

I ordered that Amazon deal and then canceled it a little while later after realizing I wanted the games digitally.

Yeah, I think I'm gonna just suck it up and buy them digitally. I think paying 20 dollars extra is worth it.

Sincere question. Why would you want both versions? I mean, if it was the same game and you could do the same things, then perfect. But isn't the 3DS version incapable of being played online?

I'm getting the Wii U version for sure.

Mine too.  I thought that was why it was so popular in Japan. So Toruresu, the reason people would want both would be to continue developing their characters when away from the house.  I would love to be able to take a game that requires a lot of grinding with me when away from home, such as Diablo III or Monster Hunter in this thread's case and develop the character further while at lunch from work or anywhere else.  If I have the time and nothing to do, this fills that time.

Ni No Kuni.  I be sooo much further if I could just take grinding onto a portable.  Shoot I wouldn't need to be able to progress the story.

That would be quite awesome.  It could be a DL only title for the Vita where it is just for fighting monsters and then you would upload that character back into the full game.  I'd pay $10-15 for something like that.

But guys, come on. What's a 30 minute session going to accomplish in a Monster Hunter game (or do I suck that much? haha)? To me, Monster Hunter was a game I sat to play for at least 3 hours at a time. Loved it on the Wii. Yes you could craft, collect/farm items/stuff but I don't think any meaningful hunt could happen in such a short time. I don't think I'll double dip this one.

Another question. If my friend brings his 3DS MH character to my house, could we both play in the same world, with him playing in his 3DS me in my Wii U?

Yes up to 3x 3DS can connect to the Wii U but you will be limited to local play. No online play.

Couldn't find anywhere else to post this:

Capcom will patch the Wii U version of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate in April to unlock cross-region play between gamers in North America and Europe, the company announced today.

...

The patch will also enable off-TV play on the GamePad.

Better late than never. Hurray!

It's not even that late, it will be a couple of weeks after launch.

Ideally, it should have been there from the start for Japan. For Japan, it will have been many long weeks. Though, I guess it doesn't matter much to them since they have had Tri G on the 3DS for over a year.

The only thing the patch would do for Japan is Off-Screen play, the patch's main feature is to enable North American and European players to play with each other.
