Actually, in terms of release, China is probably the worst. There a few generations behind...Nintendo is contemplating releasing the N64!

I wouldn't expect much connectivity between Mario & Luigi and this (assuming it's true) because Mario & Luigi is coming out a good 4 months prior to this.  Oh well, I'm looking forward to it all the same.

"Well, atleast the Australians don't get it as bad as here in NZ."

Really? This may make me sound stupid, but I always figured publishers kind of lumped Australia and New Zealand together, considering they're so close geographically and speak the same language. Odd.

actually paper mario on the gc would make some sence i guess
it probably will link up to the mario and luigi game on the gba in some way
i loved paper mario when it came out- the battle system was fun as were the dungeons
but hopefully they make it better- longer and harder quest i would say

of course this could be a mistake and the paper mario on gc could be the mario and luigi game on the gba
they are saying that mario and luigi is the successor to paper mario
we shall see- i hope its true
i call the big one bitey.

That's because Piracy is rampant in China, and Nintendo would rather not sell ANY, rather than release some and let everyone steal it all.

Australia gets it nowhere near as bad. I haven't lived in Oz since N64 days, but trust me it can't have gotten worse than it is and has always been in NZ.

- No promotion
- Gamecube only available in specialty video game stores, nowhere else (although Xbox and PS2 are available everywhere that sells electronics or music).

The Gamecube here has been an abortion, with Monaco effectively dumping it and seemingly focussing on the Gameboy line. I'd be surprised if with the current distributor, the next Nentendo even makes it here.

He is refering to your wise crack on the 9/11 attacks indirectly through your reference to Osama. though I am shocked since Osama struck australia with an attack that killed around 200 people shortly after our destruction of the Afghanie's Taliban regime. It was australia's equivelant of 9/11. And I'm also disgraces that my whiney country USA barely sent you aussies a paltry condolence gift, while were still riding on some momentum of the twin towers.

OMG, you don't know what Paper Mario is?
You have the power of the internrt, and you haven't found out what Paper Mario is?

Oh well.
It's a 2D RPG, where Mario, and all the characters are essentially 'paper cut-outs', in that when Mario turns around, he flips like a piece of paper. And changing rooms, levels, etc, makes the screen 'turn a page'. The environments, though, are modelled in 3D. Its like a mix of cel-shading and 3D.

I'm rather disappointed that they're sticking with the Paper Mario style of graphics.  If we already have Mario & Luigi for the GBA why not make the Gamecube Mario RPG more like the style of the original Super Mario RPG?  Does EVERYTHING Nintendo makes these days have to be overly cutesy and happy?  Super Mario RPG combined the graphic styles of Super Mario World and Donkey Kong Country and it looked PERFECT.  The first time I saw those graphics I thought to myself "now THAT is what the Mushroom Kingdom is supposed to look like".

Nintendo seems to do this a lot where they change a game's style for no good reason (often to make it cuter) and then sticks with that style forever.  Yoshi is a particularly good example and Star Fox and F-Zero have also changed a fair bit from their original design on the SNES.  It's very annoying when you preferred the original style.  Pretty much all of Nintendo's franchises have gotten way more cutesy and kid-friendly than they were on the SNES and they were already kid-friendly back then.

Well we havent even seen a single screenshot or had any hint of what the graphics will be like, so it wouldnt hurt to just wait and see what the graphics look like before being dissapointed.
