New Game from Monolith Soft - "X"
« on: January 23, 2013, 09:41:22 AM »
Today's Nintendo Direct offered a glimpse of Monolith's next title on the Wii U. Share your impressions!

1. I assume Xenoblade Chronicles sold well enough in the west.
2. It sounds like it's going to have amazing music, again.
3. Mechs!
4. Did that last face in the trailer belong to Shulk?
5. I am already pumped to the max for this game!

So stereotypically Japanese that you can't help but like it. And did the bot just Megatron?

All the reviews will have to say is "if you like Xenoblade you'll like this" and it's bought.  Xenoblade was worth owning a Wii for so any decent follow up to it would be worth owning a Wii U for.

Put those bozos over at SE to shame. Guess the 3DS team are working on a project since X zone is done.

I AGREE WITH IAN. This game looks to have the same jaw dropping scale that Xenoblade does which I imagine will be even more jaw dropping in HD. I should probably finish Xenoblade sometime.

Looks absolutely amazing.

I'm picturing running into a monster so big he is going to step on you so you hop in your robot to fight him or you go back to monsters that were giving you trouble on foot and step on them in the robot.  The transition from foot to robot looks seamless.

Looks awesome.  It does seem to have Xenoblade and Xenogears influence.  That is only a good thing.

Wii u is backwards compatale, might as well get both. Xenoblade will be in the bargain bin sometime too. I still kinda feel like i missed out on Last Story. I've been behind on Nintendo news for a while. Everything has been pretty low key, nothing hitting me in the face. Actually to be honest these are the type of games Nintendo should announce during e3 so they are on people's radars. Upon further research this was an operation rainfall title. Im usually interested in good games, but if im led to believe its a turn based RPG i'll not play it.  Turns out these aren't so its like wtf Nintendo?

I hope when they show this at e3 they pretend like they've never shown it off before at least.

Xenoblade Chronicles WAS an amazing experience.  I can't believe we're getting this...this is something I never thought would happen on a Nintendo system post-SNES...a game that makes sense to release.  No more quality RPG deficiencies methinks.

Yeah it would seem Nintendo went from the place that lacked RPGs to the place that had the best ones. Now if Nintendo could capture the shooting genre, the fighting genre, the car genre, and the survival horror genre we would all be set. To some extant they already have.

Xenoblade will be in the bargain bin sometime too.

Unfortunately, it's looking like the opposite is true. GameStop is currently out of stock, Nintendo no longer sells it from their website, and Amazon prices are skyrocketing. Cheapest right now is $74 used. Maybe they'll do a reprint. Or better yet, put it on the eShop. But that could be a long while.
