Topic: Anyone decent at drawing?

I'm trying to make a family crest/sigil and I got an idea but I'm not the greatest artist. Here's what I was thinking:





I want the elephant do be our animal and our motto about light. Any ideas?

This sounds game of throne-ish and it really is, but I've been wanting to do this before I heard of game of thrones.

by that last one you mean the one that looks like its on old paper, or the very cutout simplistic looking one?

or the one on yellow paper..

I'm using a combination of photoshop and flash. I first traced your image in Flash, so i would get a nice vector image, then i found a nice celtic knot pattern on google and matted out spots i wanted the knots to show up. I'd drawn the knots myself, but i cant find my damn stylus. I used images of the book of kells off wikipedia for textures and inspiration, as well as a native american indian art text book. Then I googled elephant sura, and sure enough there was one. In photoshop i did a bunch of experiments with filters. Its hard to get exactly the look you want.
