Well, Electronic Arts is up next at 4 PM EST.  I expect I'll dislike this conference as well, since it'll be EA Sports-centric and Dead Space 3 is the only game they've announced I'm interested in.  I could also imagine them revealing Dragon Age 3.  Still, unlike Microsoft EA usually knows how to keep a Press Conference moving, so it'll probably be more entertaining.

funny watching the xbox conference on the game trailer's stream, they had realtime feedback, it was in the green during halo 4 and splinter cell and the meter dive bombed ever since they talked about kinnect and never recovered from rock bottom since.

I was hoping for a price cut and was dissapointed :(

No point in a price cut until at least closer to the WiiU launch.  Also, if E3 buzz is that the WiiU sucks (don't think it'll happen), then there would be no reason to cut the price even at WiiU launch because it's not going to cut into their sales.  My guess is they will probably wait until early 2013 for a price cut, but only if the WiiU actually does take off.

Nintendo's E3 show is probably going to be 85 percent Wii U.  5 percent bragging and 10 percent 3DS.   I really hope that isn't true, though it probably is.  I just want to see Luigi's Mansion, Fire Emblem, Paper Mario and a few new games for 3DS.  I can understand if they don't accounce new games, considering that half of the games the games for E3 2011 aren't even release yet.  Maybe later on a press event.

This analysis from Giant Bomb's Alex Navarro is a pretty good summation of the conference and its pitfalls.

EA's briefing is starting soon. I wonder if they or Ubisoft are allowed to demonstrate Wii U games before Nintendo's official re-unveiling tomorrow.

I would assume yes and that was the purpose of the Nintendo Direct.

Alright, it's EA's turn now.  Let's see what they kick off their conference with.  Hopefully it'll be Dead Space 3.

John Ricatello, that "Sundance" line still doesn't work, and you keep using it year after year.

Hooray for Dead Space 3 kicking off their press conference, though.

EDIT: I find it amusing how Lost Planet was seemingly inspired by games like Dead Space, and now Dead Space looks like it's "inspired by" Lost Planet.

And **** Co-Op in my survival horror game.  Seriously.

Sounds like DS3 will be awesome.  I cannot wait.  DS is one of my favorite new series of this generation (along with Assassin's Creed and Uncharted).

Wow, I'm disappointed in Dead Space 3.  They've turned my tense sci-fi survival horror game into a bro-y banter-filled shooter in the snow.  Bleh.  Who was asking for this?

I'm sure I'll probably enjoy the game, but that is not Dead Space.

And oh look, it's Madden.  Whatever.

Yeah, good luck taking the "virtual simulation" crown away from the Civilization and Farmville series with this casual Sim City game, EA.  Let me know when Hell freezes over.

The "core"-focused Sim City game looks better, but not my thing.

Meh, that $50 Battlefield 3 Premium service doesn't sound bad, but it's way too late for something like this for that game.  They'd be better off focusing on Medal of Honor Warfighter.

EDIT: "We're insanely awesome!  Star Wars: The Old Republic had over a million players logging in on Day 1!  And we're only down to 250,000 players logging in now!  Aren't we insanely awesome?!"

Wow, Medal of Honor Warfighter lives up to its extremely generic name.  You could take this footage and drop it into just about any military FPS game in the last 6 years, and you wouldn't be able to tell the difference.  I kind of liked the last Medal of Honor, but this just doesn't look that interesting.

EDIT: I respect the FIFA series for its supposed excellence and importance worldwide, but this is just incredibly boring.

Pretty much another nail in the THQ coffin.  Anyone want to bet on how long before THQ files for bankruptcy?

Good call BW.  NFS Most Wanted.  How many of these games have they made now?  I'm still waiting for the successor to Burnout Paradise to be made.  That was the only realistic racing game I thoroughly enjoyed.

Need for Speed: Most Wanted looks fun, but I rarely buy a driving game (the last one I bought was Split/Second) and I probably won't buy this one.

EDIT: Hey, they're ending on Crysis 3.  That's at least two games at this Press Conference that interest me somewhat (Dead Space 3 & Crysis 3).

WTF is EA thinking having both Dead Space 3 and Crysis 3 releasing in February 2013?  :Q   They'll cannibalize their own sales, and that's not taking into account both games getting their asses kicked by Bioshock Infinite and other games delayed into 2013 alrady.

EDIT: *Facepalm for Adam Sessler* "It looks like they know where they want to go with Medal of Honor this time with the fettish-ization of the military and the focus on their heroic actions."

Me: "As opposed to ALL THE OTHER military FPS games?  :confused;

Early 2013 is looking like early 2011, where a bunch of games slated for holiday season were pushed to the new year.  I say awesome as now we will have great games from around October through at least March.

It does seem as though Spring has become the new holiday season. Nice job, industry - you weren't supposed to all move at once.  ::)

Absolutely zero surprises in that show. Not to say there weren't a couple of fairly cool-looking games, but each and every thing they demoed was pretty much exactly as I expected it to be. It's a competitive sequel-driven business, I guess; they either have to keep doing what they were already doing to a fault (Medal of Honour: Warfighter) or make it more marketable by making it similar to more successful products (Dead Space 3). It just felt like a lack of creativity in general on the part of EA.
