The RFN Drinking Game

Over the past few years, I have listened to the majority of RFN episodes with the “Big 4” (Jonny, Jon, James and Greg), both new and archived. There are so many great in-jokes and recurring touchstones that I immediately thought, borderline alcoholic that I am, of a drinking game. I’ve been meaning to get this started for ages. With Greg leaving the show, now seemed like a good time.
Here is a smattering of “rules” to get us started.

During intros, James makes a non-committal grunt of some sort – 2 drinks

- Greg mentions that he's a fan of something that absolutely no one would think that Greg would enjoy. (3 drinks)

- Someone references 2001: A Space Odyssey, or a David Lynch film/tv show. (1 drink)

- Jon talks about a Nintendo game. (10 drinks)

- Jonny's new business takes about five times longer than everyone else's. (4 drinks) [This only happened on a few, notable episodes.]

- Greg references something he watched in his childhood that no sane parent would let their child watch. (3 drinks) [could be tied into the David Lynch thing]


- Guillaume talks about a mod of some sort. (2 drinks)

- Guillaume completely disagrees with someone. (1 drink)
 
- Sarah from iowa city sends in a letter (3 drinks)
 
- Guillaume talks about a platformer  (half a drink - you'd die otherwise)

- We get a stinger at the end (very rare these days)

- James makes a comment about how "you can really divide the GameBoy library up into pre-Pokemon and post-Pokemon." (2 drinks)

- Gui stumbles 2 or more times reciting Now Playing (1 drink)

- Gui completes Now Playing without stumbling (7422 drinks)

The list above is not intended to be exhaustive. Though the list is fairly long, I tried not to add everything I could think of in one go. It's just a starter.

Ok...I now see you reference that now that greg is leaving a drinking game should be started.  I now just question the timing aspect.  Not nearly as enjoyable to go through the backlog for the drinking game.  More fun if playing moving forward, which is why I questioned your usage of Greg for these rules.

Just my 2 cents.

@lolmonade and TJ, I think you're missing the spirit of the list. It's a tribute (and some gentle ribbing) to the RFN crew and their foibles. It's not a serious game. That said, feel free to grab a random episode from the past and some friends, and get loaded. The fact that Greg is leaving is a perfect time to celebrate the legacy. A bit of a roast, if you will.
 
But there's nothing preventing us from keeping the list as a living document, updating it with future trends and including Guillaume eccentrcities.

And man alive, the New Business section of Greg's last episode (291) was killer drinking game material: Castlevania games, Treasure games, Gunstar Heroes, Sin and Punshment, Ikaruga, Bangai-O, Radiant Silvergun (2 drinks!), Super Ghouls and Ghosts, "Tough but Fair". That show alone would kill anyone except Marion Ravenwood.
