Soul Calibur 2
« on: May 13, 2003, 11:55:05 PM »
i know this is probably way too early to ask, but how do the console specific characters stack up againsed each other, after reading the PGC's reveiw of SC2, and reading that link isn't exactly a sterling character, im wondering if the other ones (Spawn? and er.. that tekken guy?) are somewhat the same. which would lead me to belive that they are there for hype/self advertising purposes, hey i would have gotten SC2 reguardless so i dont really mind that link isn't that great. im just curious

i figure most people in here wouldn't have had a chance to play gamecube soul calibur yet, let alone ps2/xbox versions, so i guess this is mostly aimed at the PGC staff.

The Tekken guy is...tougher than he looks.
Link is either awesome or a dissapointment depending on your point of view. If you believe that Soul Calibur shouldn't have projectiles, you probably won't like him too much. If you think Link's controls should be exactly like the normal SCII characters, you won't like him too much. However you like his moves and style in Zelda and Smash Bros. you'll probably like him. As far as quality goes, he can be a very powerful character if you use him right. The projectiles are a little easy to dodge, but he's got some great sword combos that are really fast for such a large sword compared to other people that have swords of comparable swords. He's great for ring outs, and a lot of his moves will send players flying all over the place...
Spawn also has projectiles like link, so people might not like him. He's a pretty good character too.

Personally, I would rank them Link, then Spawn, then the sword-less one
