Holiday Conundrum
« on: November 04, 2011, 03:38:45 PM »
Good day all. I find myself in need of help. The holidays are the one time when I can really acquire a wealth of games, but it seems that I have a problem. Over the course of this year, I have seemingly forgotten most of the games that came out! I am calling upon you, the only responsible forum I know, to aid me by posting all the games, for any platform (though I only have Wii/360/DS/3DS) that were good this year and that I should ask for for Christmas. I truly need your help here. All of your ideas, give them to me!
If it matters, I am 20, attending college, and have tastes similar to Mr. Metts and Mr. Jones on RFN.

Mr. Metts and Mr. Jones on RFN.
And you don't explode?

Skylanders for the 3DS is really good if you like Action Platformer but, Pricey and arguably short for the cost.

I'm just going to assume Zelda:SS, Mario 3D Land, Mario 3D Kart are already on your list.
Portal 2 if you haven't already got that is probably one of the best games of the year.

Hmmm... I really haven't bought many new games this year.  I know more people can fill this out more.

I already have Z:SS queued up, same with Mario Kart. Not so interested in Skylanders.  Thanks though. Most of the 1st party releases I recall, it's the games that are more likely to slip through the cracks that I'm really worried about.

Here's a few more:

WII's list:
Xenoblade (if you like JRPG)
Bit.Trip Complete (an WIIWare game)
Kirby's Return to Dreamland (platformer with multiplayers similar to Super Mario Bros WII)
Conduit 2 (FPS since you don't have any of the modern consoles)
Or CoD Modern Warfare 3 (FPS that the WII is supposed to get it anyhow)

DS's list:
Professor Layton and the Last Specter (DS-ole school adventure/puzzle type of game--4th in the series)
Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2 (RPG with lots of collecting similar to pokemon)
Okamiden (an modern adventure game similar to the Zelda series)
Kirby Mass Attack ( platformer)
Plants vs. Zombies (action/strategy)
Radiant Historia (JRPG with some new twists)
Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective (ole school adventure similar to Capcom's Ace Attorney series)

-----------------------
These's are all the sleeper hits released/will release this year.

If you like platformers, then two games that haven't been mentioned yet are Lost in Shadow and de Blob 2.
