Miyamoto's Next Game, will it be at the show?
« on: May 12, 2003, 05:47:41 PM »
Hello everyone.  I was recently reading an article over at another game site when I came across an article that mentioned Miyamoto's next game.  After reading some of the posts in this forum, I've come to realize that some of you are quite well informed on the ways of the Big N.  So here's my question.  What is Miyamoto's next game?  What is it's strange concept?  And will it be at the show?

Thanks very much for your replies

Enjoy the Show!

The "strange" game that IGN first mentioned, thus resulting in everyone else mentioning, was finally revealed by IGN a couple of days ago (or was it yesterday?). It's an intriguing Pac-Man game if you can believe that. There is a thread about it in the "Gamecube" section of this forum.

There are also rumors of two new games coming out of Nintendo, "Fear" and "Ground Zero" which I'm sure have threads in the Gamecube section somewhere.

i very much belive it will very much!
i mean with all the hints and teasers dropped about a big nintendo announcement, one could draw the logical conclusion that mr miyamoto has concocted a loverly new game. well it wont be a new console. way too early for gamecube and gameboy, so those are obviously out, all the big franchise names have been announced recently/ages ago or come out in the not to distant past, so that wouldn't be the big announcement, its obviously not going to be pacman (which by the way im real interested in) so its either going to be full version/close to completion of mario 128 and/or some mystery new titles of glorious glory

that or nintendo going to pull something completly surprising out of their rear orrifaces, which isn't entirely impossible

Nay.  Geist is not developed by EAD, although it looks interesting.

weird that they didn't show any new game from EAD. Geist is developed by NSpace. Maybe they show something tomorrow

nintendo had the best E3 2001 and possibly the best E3 of 2002..  what has happened nintendo?

they should not have announced so many games early.. they could have given us all of the shock today... now there is probably nothing left
I'll shut up now...

I've followed Nintendo for over 15 years.  They have so much up their sleeves it's not even funny.  By the looks of things, their E3 selection seems to be the best of the big three.  I can't wait until tommorrow to find out for myself!

Turns out that the new game Giest is actually the game "Fear" that was mentioned on several sites lately. This according to IGN in there article on Nintendo's press conference.

Stimutacs Addict, I'm in your boat. I was pretty bored with Nintendo's offerings, true, I want many of the titles, but nothing really dropped my jaw and nothing was new to me. I figured we'd at least see Mario 128 or something else.

Not everything new is always shown at the Pre-E3 press conference.  Nintendo's press conference is basically an introduction to E3.  From the lack of "newness" at this year's press conference, I would expect something unveiled on the floor.

I know one of the big sites said Factor 5 had a second exlusive, supposedly on the show floor. We'll see about that, Thornado? Pilotwings? Something else? Interesting. Hopefully Mario 128 will be there! Mushroom Kingdom please! And would it be too hard to bring back real power ups?

Miyamoto's new game is Fear. It was announced along with Ground Zero (which I'm assuming is Game Zero).

"Turns out that the new game Giest is actually the game "Fear" that was mentioned on several sites lately. This according to IGN in there article on Nintendo's press conference."

Fear and Geist have two different plots. Unless the source that revealed Fear and Ground Zero got the information wrong, Fear is about a young boy that overcomes a new fear in every stage, each with it's own theme. That's not what Geist is about.

fear and ground Zero were just rumors....they were created by the imagination of gamepro's rumor section.

I believe Ty told us that Fear and Ground Zero were just hoax games someone made up, although there are rumors that the original form of Geist was Fear. I don't think Miyamoto personally is working on this game, though, just Nintendo helping out n-Space.
