Iwata and Itoi Talk Mother 4
« on: March 31, 2011, 12:29:34 PM »

Earthbound creator Shigesato Itoi briefly talks about the non-existent sequel.

The creator of the Mother series (known as Earthbound outside of Japan) is on the record to once again stating that there will be no Mother 4.

Shigesato Itoi is the subject of a four page article in an upcoming issue of the Japanese magazine, Brutus. At one point during the two months that the magazine followed him for the article, Itoi met up with Nintendo President Satoru Iwata and discussed a hypothetical sequel to 2006's Mother 3. In the article, Itoi stated, "There is no Mother 4. I've already said that."

Outside of Japan, Shigesato Itoi is best known for the Earthbound series, however, in Japan he is known as a copy writer, TV personality, and editor-in-chief of his website, Hobo Nikkan Itoi Shinbun (Almost Daily Itoi News).

The latest issue of Brutus goes on sale in Japan on April 1.

What kind of crap is this? You post a "news" story, that essentially just reports a lack of news. This story is so ridiculously redundant I would have just assumed it was intended to be an April Fool's prank if it had just been posted a day later. Come on guys, don't insult our intelligences here by posting these 'filler' pieces just because it happens to be a slow news week.

Actually, there is a fan game being worked on my the name of Mother 4. It doesn't seem to be far along though.
