Episode 36: A Return to Normalcy
« on: January 15, 2011, 12:30:06 PM »

After three consecutive epic-sodes, the Newscast crew returns to a classic style episode with the whole crew.

With the year-end transition behind us, the NWR Newscast gets back to doing what it's been doing for over a year now: giving you the news.

3DS news is the topic of the day, so we'll go over the Japanese launch line-up, and what can be expected state-side this spring on the new handheld.  Also, we'll go over the games we're currently playing for review.  Andy's neck-deep into Lost in Shadow, and Neal's just gotten his toes wet in Monster Tale.

As always, we welcome your feedback on the talkback thread, or by email at newscast@nintendoworldreport.com

Your conversational partner has disconnected.

Firstly, high-five to Nathan for defending Worms 3D! I swear by that game's quality - it shocks me that nobody else likes it.

Secondly, it's kind of sad that Professor Layton and the Mask of Miracle is probably a Fall 2012 deal in the West. In an ideal world, I'd like both regular Layton and 3D Layton this year, but the schedule has remained consistent over the first trilogy, so that's not happening.

Am I the only one that want long podcasts?  They're great to listen to when I'm driving to work, or when I'm working out.  When I'm on the treadmill, I just plug my earphones in, load up a podcast, and before you know it, 40 minutes have passed.  Please have longer episodes! PLEASE!

I am all for longer podcasts too (I love it when they border on two hours) but with the switch to the weekly format, I am getting more new content and what essentially amounts to a two-hour podcast over two weeks rather than one week. However, I'll often listen to an episode two or three times (in the background while I do other stuff), so if a particular episode is lackluster one week, I won't have to wait another two weeks to get a different one.

I do know that if they released a few weekly episodes that were longer, I wouldn't complain.

I'm sad, although not surprised, to hear the word on Lost in Shadow.  It could have been a NyxQuest-quality game, but apparently Hudson can no longer match a small indie developer...

Actually, that's not fair, since I am enjoying Military Madness: Nectaris, but that only makes me wish more for the Hudson of old.  I'll settle for Mario Party-quality!
