A Box Full of Zelda

Introducing Zelda Box!  And no, it has nothing to do with Pokemon Box.

Presenting a very cool Zelda collectors item - Zelda Box.  Having absolutely nothing to do with "Pokemon Box" for GameCube, Zelda Box is a really nice set of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker items in one handy dandy box.  Zelda Box features:

  • A Zelda History Book
  • Poster/Map
  • Moblin Figurine
  • Link Figurine
  • Game Music CD

Aside from containing history of the Legend of Zelda series, the 114 page book also contains a game guide and plenty of Wind Waker artwork, with pictures of the main characters.  In a similar fashion to the Sonic 10th Anniversary Box Set, it also contains information on various Zelda merchandise.

The soundtrack has 12 tracks, featuring music from the NES, Super NES, Nintendo 64 and GameCube games.  The Link and Moblin Figurines are approximately 1.25 inches high.  The set retails for 1500 yen.

I actually bought this about 2 weeks ago.  It's pretty cool!  You can grab it for about $40 on ebay or Otaku.com, and for a true zelda fan, its worth it.  I'll go over each piece of the package:

The CD - 12 tracks from different zelda games.  It's nice to have clean copies of these songs (no junk off of Kazaa), but not a lot of variety.  the Wind Waker tracks, 4 of them, are the centerpiece of the disc.

The figures - extremely cool, but even smaller than the japanese final fantasy coke figures.  extremely detailed.  a very unique collectible.

The book - awesome!  to see some design sketches that didn't make it is so cool.  i just wish i could read japanese.  again, extremely cool pics!

The poster - Another awesome item.  I haven't seen this scene anywhere else.  I'm actually thinking of having it matted and framed.  It's that cool.  It's a pic of link and zelda fighting ganon, and if you've played and beaten the game, you'll truly appreciate this scene.

Overall, definitely worth the price of admission if you are a big Zelda fan.  I suggest Otaku.com if you're interested.

I got it for $30 on eNay about three weeks ago. I've seen it go for $25. It's pretty cool, but you can't actaully read the book without ruining it. The binding will get creased and stuff. Plus, the book is attached to the box. If I had the money to blow, I'd get a second Zelda Box and keep one to look at and one to keep in mint condition.

I really wish that someone would translate it all.

Well it was put together by Famitsu, not Nintendo itself.

True it is put together by famitsu, but it is endorsed by Nintendo.  Nintendo's sound team even decided which songs went on the CD.  The figures are cool, though.  Definitely not something you'll ever see in the states.  Again, it's worth the $30 + $12 for shipping.  The one complaint is, like somebody said, the book doesn't come out of the box.  That kind of stinks.
