Miyamoto's 25th Mario Anniversary interview is now available in English.

The English translation of the special edition of Iwata Asks from September 14 is now available. This interview, by Shigesato Itoi is more of a discussion with Shigeru Miyamoto as they both work to express in words what they have been unable to in past interviews. The Mario designer is quizzed about the concepts that make up the game design process.

In the process of talking about what it takes to come up with ideas for games, Itoi and Miyamoto cover topics that could be applied to the creative process of any industry. Inspirations, rivals, and TV dramas are among the many topics that are passed by on the way to defining what a good idea for a game really is, and how it comes about.

This is a long, in-depth, and very interesting interview that gives a rare insight to some of Miyamoto's thinking processes and working practices. Reading it in full is highly recommended.

Hmm very good interview. It makes you think about game design in another way.
Maxi is dead. I killed him and took his posts and changed genders.
