Muramasa publisher undergoes a 'major strategical evolution'.

Ignition Entertainment, publisher of Muramasa: The Demon Blade for Wii, has announced that it is rebranding and shifting its focus to digital distribution platforms.

The company's new name is UTV Ignition Entertainment, assuming the brand of Ignition's parent company UTV Group. In what the company is calling a "major strategic evolution", they will emphasize the development, marketing, and publishing of titles on digital platforms like Xbox Live, PlayStation Network, Steam, Facebook, Apple's App Store, and Google Games.

According to GamesIndustry.biz, former IGN executive Justin Keeling has joined the company as chief of global strategy and product to spearhead this new initiative.

What a shame, but I guess this is financially the best move for them (the same way Majesco shifted their focus to handheld games and budget games after Psychonauts and Advent Rising bombed).

Well, from what I hear their localization work is not very good so its probably for the best. Now they can stop sniping projects from XSeed. Too bad XSeed is rather slow to localize projects.

Interesting that there is no mention of WiiWare or DSiWare on that list.

I also found this interesting, although I can't readily recall any Ignition games other than Muramasa (which is sitting on my shelf and I have yet to play).
