However, I would like to ask - is there a way that users can see what posts they've gotten points/points taken away for?It doesn't do me any good to log in and see that I have -50 points if I don't know why.
For the record, I don't typically give out "rep" - and rarely do I take it away
I smite on a regular basis.
They're totally different beasts. Karma lets users easily see who tends to have good posts and who tends to just post worthless junk. It's a lot more universal than giving a thumbs up to a single post.
Insanolord is a terrible moderator.
Actually, most of those are left over from the original Karma-implementation, before I was a mod. I don't deserve credit for those.
I understand the theory, but in practice, it's a number no less meaningless than post counts. If it were accurate, members like BlackNMild2k1 and Maxi would have a positive score.
Is there a limit to the points people can give/take? Something like one a day seems ideal.
No change, my theory was wrong.
Is it true that people who get a below-zero score are unable to start new threads?
I hear when you write for other sites, your old friendships are revoked.
