Overall, my impression of the Sony Press Conference is that it was a solid outing, if not particularly exciting like Nintendo's was (then again, Sony hurt their case by leaking many of these games weeks ago). I'll pardon the way that Kevin Butler's speech just completely stopped the show because it was pretty awesome, but in general ther was just way too much talking and too little live demo-ing (to be fair, I had this problem with Nintendo, too). I'm thrilled to see Sly return for the Sly Cooper Collection, along with Ratchet and the others in that "Heroes" game. Unfortunately, that was really my only big game, and it's a collection of PS2 games. On the Move side, I thought Sony did an excellent job demonstrating the Move and unlike Microsoft they actually gave out pricing info. There also look to be a decent selection of games out of the gate supporting Move, including several gimmies like Killzone 3, Resident Evil 5, and Heavy Rain. The PSP's a Lost Cause, though, and everything about it at this show was pointless.
In general, I think Sony looked strong going into this event, and they still look strong coming out of it. They lacked the surprises and swiftness of Nintendo's event, but it was a fine show in its own right that solidifies the PS3 as the worthy runner-up to the Wii. Seriously, though...NO LAST GUARDIAN and NO TEAM ICO COLLECTION? What the hell?!
