The legendary N64 shooter is back!
 http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/newsArt.cfm?artid=23256

N64 shooter fans rejoice! In the maelstrom that is E3, the first trailer for a new Goldeneye Wii title has hit the internet. A trailer's worth a thousand words, so check it out for yourselves, folks!

UPDATE: The video's been removed from YouTube due to Activision's claim of copyright infringement. We'll have a replacement as it becomes available.

UPDATE 2: The leaked video has been replaced with the official version that was released during Nintendo's E3 2010 Press Conference.

The tagline is a bit misleading, it makes it sound like it is a remake of the Nintendo 64 game when it isn't. Though the trailer kind of does too.

Even with just leftover screens, looks like Activision did a shitty job with video capturing (or the game itself).

Hell yeah !! Woohoo. It looks great even in that crappy quality. I loved Goldeneye and this looks like a great remake. Is this part of Nintendo's show tomorrow or is Activision show?

The tagline is a bit misleading, it makes it sound like it is a remake of the Nintendo 64 game when it isn't. Though the trailer kind of does too.

What makes you think it isn't a remake, it certainly looks like the same levels.  With Activision owning the Bond license and Nintendo owning the rights to the original game why couldn't it be remade?  Is it because of Rare?  It had no Rare owned characters in it and Nintendo have been able to re-release the Donkey Kong Country games which were also developed by Rare so they don't exactly have full control over everything they've made.

People say Goldeneye is out of date but if you remember it has a lot of things that many shooters even nowadaysdon't have, like objectives that increase in quantity depending on the difficulty.  The only problem it has is the single analog controls which will obviously be fixed.

It could be remade, anything is always possible. But I just don't see Nintendo allowing it. The levels shown were all scenes from the movie, so of course they look the same. And it is no coincidence that they showed scenes which happen to appear in the N64 game, because if this is real, they are targeting nostalgic fans.

At this point, there's no way to know one way or the other. If it gets officially announced during E3, it will be confirmed whether it is or not.

Actually after looking at the video it looks like they are remaking the entire game with HD graphics, and new features.

This could be epic and amazing...if done right.

However, it could be ultimately the worst game by trying to keep the fan service and add so many new things to the game, that it truly ceases to be Goldeneye anymore.

I am hoping for something good.  That it will take the original game and just make it better, and add a few new levels.  The thing that makes me afraid though is the instant kills when you sneak up on somebody...it just didn't seem like Goldeneye.

And Mop it Up, it just wasn't scenes from the movies, they showed stuff that was more for the original game, including the layout of the first level...looked exactly the same.  I can see Nintendo allowing it...if they also added significant change.  Heck, Nintendo maybe helping design the game.

Only for Wii means no HD.

That wasn't a problem.  In fact that was one of the best features of the game.  For true aiming you had to stop moving and take your time.  It was, realistic and made hunting fun and enjoyable.  Taking that element away kinda ruined the Perfect Dark Arcade remake.

Sorry...better graphics, my fault for thinking that you can say Wii standard graphics are higher definition than Nintendo 64 graphics.

I saw the trailer, it didn't look like stuff from the original game to me. The N64 tried to create the floorplans of certain areas from the movie, including the Dam and Facility, and this game likely does the same. Mostly though, I don't think it is a good idea to assume it is a remake from what little we know, which is very little, because we don't even know if it is real. We'll likely find out tomorrow.

Also, despite the current Funhouse name, the "u" in my username isn't capitalized.

You could also use the 1.2 control setup, which used the analogue stick for aiming and the C-buttons for movement. It is essentially the same as dual-analogue, except with digital input for the movement, there was no way to walk. Also, technically, the game did have a dual-analogue control option, which used two controllers. So, you're right, it wasn't a problem, and nothing which needs to be fixed or will change anything if this is in fact a remake.

Meh, I just watched the trailer, and maybe it's just me but it just isn't Goldeneye without Pierce Brosnan as Bond.  Plus, visually the game kind of looks like crap.  I'm hoping that game is very early.

It's a remake, the first third of the trailer is basically talking about how the original is one of the best ever.  It's going to be similar layouts to the N64 game but more cinematic is seems (it looks like you're going to have a partner.  I mean there is a shot where they were sniping from a tower in the dam level and all that was shown of the dam in the film was Bond just bungee jumping from it.

This & no mention of an online play is what's keeping me from enjoying this. As it stands, I may be better off just dusting off my N64 & playing Goldeneye & Perfect Dark on of that.
