Will there be an E3 Subforum?
« on: June 12, 2010, 09:51:48 PM »
Title explains it all. It would be much better if we had an E3 specific subforum, where every news is posted and discussed there, instead of all over the boards.

Any thoughts?

Obviously, I have no official say in this.

I like the *idea*, but what happens after E3?  Does the board get closed and all topics deleted?  Do they get moved into another forum?  If so, who gets the job of moving all the topics from one forum to another?

That is a good question. Perhaps after E3, a moderator could lock the subforum and the conversations, if the forumers wish to continue them, would go to the respective forum areas?

X- game is announced for the Wii at E3. NWR guys post info on the E3 subforum, we all post there. E3 ends, each topic gets an official discussion in the respective area of the forum, done either by regular members (Maxi probably) or by moderators.

Wouldn't that be the Talkback forum?

Well here is my thoughts on this subforum. I propose we have the subforum made and and we have all the info in that subforum. Once E3 ends some mod hides it till next E3 rolls around when it gets brought back again.

As for topics I don't think I would do a good job of making opening posts so I probably won't be making any. As you might of noticed lately I haven't been making many topics lately but just making posts about the details on the games in existing topics. Also I have many things that I am doing as well.

I actually like Maxi's idea. Hide it until next years E3. I said you could do it because you've done a good job in some posts/threads.

It's not Talkback because it would only be E3 content, nothing else.

If we hide the E3 subforum until next year, does that mean all the content on that forum is virtually lost?

It doesn't seem necessary to me. It isn't like there will be other news posted on the site, it will all be E3 stuff. As long as the topics are appropriately placed in TalkBack, Console Discussion, Handheld Discussion, and Other Systems, it will be fine.

Last time we had a Gaming Subforum we had the Brawl forum. When it was gotten rid of all the topics went into Nintendo Console. But I think that there might be a way to have all the content backed up somewhere then brought back and placed back in the subforum once next E3 rolls around.

How about just have a subforum for all gaming events? E3, TGS, GDC, Gamecom and so forth.

That's actually not a bad idea, not a bad idea at all.

Didn't the old (old) forums had a section for this? I think it had a E3, TGS, GDC and something else.
