And personal opinion wins over objective view once again! 
I don't really agree with this.
Z1 isn't a flawless game by any means - but the flaws that it does have are mostly due to the restrictions of the system it was released on. Ages, on the other hand, has several flaws that aren't limited to the system it was released on.
Z1 is a world full of exploration and challenges - things like the swordless quests, minimalist quest, the entire second quest. All kinds of things you can do and all different kinds of ways to play the game. By comparison, Ages is pretty linear. You can't do B until you've done A.
The ring collect-a-thon, along with some of the pieces of heart (Pieces of Heart should never be hidden within a random event... this means you could try forever and never obtain them) really hurt the game. Granted, not as bad as, say, the Wind Waker photo quest or such, but still - if I want to play a collect-a-thon, I'll dig out DK64. It did it better.
