There has been some talk on here about Virtual Boy games coming to DSiware, but this was back before the 3DS announcement so there were arguments over whether it could actually be done or not because the DS/i is a 2D system. Well, now we know for a fact the 3DS will be a 3D system so that obstacle no longer exists.
There is, however, a good possibility Nintendo won't put Virtual Boy games on a 3DS download service anyway, for several reasons. One being that the VB was a failure which Nintendo had quietly swept under the rug, and I guess they probably still want to keep it buried. Bringing up Virtual Boy games again would confuse people who never heard of the Virtual Boy, and reopen the old embarrassment of its failure.
Another reason Nintendo might not mess with VB games is because it would involve some effort, and with probably little gain because they would have to emulate that obscure hardware which would take some coding effort I'm sure, and since there were only 22 or so games for it they might not see much gain. Plus the VB games might compete with original 3DS games, and Nintendo may not want that.
But with all that said, I really hope it will happen because I have fond memories of Warioland, Teleroboxer, and the handful of other games and since I can't find my VB anywhere this is probably the only way I'll ever be able to play these games again. Its also the only way most people would ever be able to play these games again or for the first time, so I really hope it will happen, but I have some doubts it will because we all know how Nintendo can be sometimes about this sort of stuff. I've never played the VB version of Waterworld, and I doubt I ever will because since it is a movie license it probably will never get added even if other VB games do.
