I'm addicted to Tomena Sanner. Unless the Nintendo Channel lies, I've been playing it for 10 hours, making it my second most-played Wiiware game, even though it is hands down the most simplistic. And yet I can't stop playing it!

It's just an insane, hilarious game. This game is all about seeing what crazy thing the developer will throw at you.

We've seen this kind of game before: you automatically move to the right, and all you have to do is press a button from time to time. But unlike something like Canabalt (Flash game that's free to play, check it out if you haven't already) where you just jump over obstacles, in Tomena you jump-kick teenagers, you frog-leap old ladies, you dance with a bunch of Japanese school girls, or you pray to Buddha and float toward enlightenment, IF you have great timing. If you're off a bit, or if you fail, you'll get different but similarly hilarious results.

And that's the first level. The one set in a "boring" old (Japanese, I presume) city. The second stage is set in prehistoric times, and the third on the moon. You'll also visit the Far West, the future, and what I suppose is the Japanese take on Hell.

And even when you've seen almost all there is to see in it, and it's not as funny as it was the first hour, it remains addictive as hell. The sad thing is, no one is playing it, at least on Wiiware. The online leaderboards for level 1-1 (North American only) has less than 1000 people on it. And I'm second on the leaderboards for the Endless mode. That just ain't right.

Come on, offer me a challenge here.

Pretend this is me, mocking you, and take me down a notch, will ya?

Why don't you try us again when you're first on the leaderboards? :P:

Haha, that won't take too long, actually. It's just that considering I usually can't break the top 10,000 on the leaderboards of the PSN games I own, being second in NA on Tomena Sanner's leaderboards is giving me a huge ego, better take care of that before it gets out of hand!

Also, perhaps it's too subtle but the primary point of this thread was really to give my impressions of the game and say "look guys how I'm enjoying it!".

Bragging was secondary. Really. I swear.

I would challenge you, but I'm scared that the thing in your author icon would jump through my computer screen and strangle me.

I had never heard of this game, so I did a little research.  Looks fun and quirky.  But it also looks to share a lot in common with the upcoming Bit.Trip Runner so I'll probably just get that instead.  Sorry!
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

To be fair, the channel/game play times Nintendo sticks in your inbox say I played Mega Man 10 for 19 hours the other day.  I assure you, I did not.  Nor do I believe I just left the game on.  Given this, it may lie, just a little.

Gah!

I've afraid to say the guy in first place is probably safe from me for a while. He's got 50% more points than I do. Damn you, Jayarr, whoever you are!

The trick, really, is to find the secret area in each stage (I think there is one in each stage, haven't found them all quite yet) and really go for the big coins. But it's really a challenge: go for the secret areas or big coins, and it's likely you'll hit an obstacle and lose time on the timer. It's quite a balancing act.

@vudu

I'm sure there's enough space for both. First, we're not sure if Runner will have leaderboards yet. Second, this is $5 measly bucks. And I'm pretty certain it's wackier and funnier than Runner will be (though of course I'll be getting it too).

This game is pretty awesome though.  It's so simple, so weird, so easy to pick up and play.  Although not good enough for the leader boards, I still see something new and funny almost every time I play.

Haha, wow. On the one hand, I'm happy to see all the Tomena Sanner love over there.

On the other hand... it's ****ing on, JayArr.  :@

Wait, I thought you wanted to be knocked off the leaderboards? Why are you now competing with the guy in first place?
