well i wouldn't want to use a hammer on it, but they seem just as sturdy if not moreso than the original GBA ones

They're built in a way that you don't need to hammer on them in order to play.

If you DO hammer on them, perhaps you need to look into an alternate form of stress therapy?

You don't need to hammer on them (they're quite responsive), they just feel *extremely* weird. I had to play through a dungeon in Golden Sun for an SP owning friend of mind and it took me quite a while to get used to the feel of the buttons.

In this case, different equals better, in my opinion anyway.  I enjoy the feel of the new buttons and I believe they are more durable than the old ones.

I guess it's a matter of preference- I've poured hours upon hours into my GBA and have grown quite accustomed to it's buttons. I don't like the clicking action of the SP. I seriously had problems controlling Golden Sun with that thing.

I prefer the SP buttons, seems more responsive in games that need it.

slightly odd playing metroid fusion with those shoulder buttons, but i got over that quickly, i just all around prefer the feel of SP to old GBA.
