lol... actually that was pretty good. Keep it up and people here are gonna think you seriously eat cats. That was a joke post.. based on fact. I feel really bad for her cuz she's sad, and i'm sad too cuz i loved that cat in the three years I've known it, but i don't deal with stuff like this well without humour, so the joke was appreciated.

Yeah, I feel for you guys. My family has a really old tabby around 20 years old who is in real bad shape. He used to be a big old fat thing and now he's close to skin and bones and much weaker. He's very close to passing away. He is a good buddy and I'll miss him a lot when he goes. He can still get around the house but he does have trouble jumping up on anything higher than a couch or chair.

I've lost several cats over the years. The first one was hard. Then you just kinda expect it when the time comes closer. The last one lived darn near 20 years... That makes me sound really old...

All right, so I've never had a pet and therefore this may be something I don't understand, so I apologize in advance if this question is insensitive.

Why does the death of a pet have to be sad? As it would seem in this case, the animal has lived a long, full, and happy life. Like all living things, its time on this planet was limited, and this is inevitable. Now, I'm not saying it is a joyous occasion or anything like that, but I don't understand why it must be met with sadness. It may no longer be with you, but its memory will never die. Be thankful for the many years you've had together, and the happiness it brought you will live on.

Lots of people look at their pets as their children.
They feed and care for their baby every single day and likely cuddle with them whenever possible.
To lose a loved pet to them would pretty much be like losing a child or a really close family member. THey'll no longer be there to do the things you expect of them on a daily basis, and  regardless of how much the little things might have irritated you at the time, you will still miss them because that was what your baby used to do.

But if a parent loses a child then that means it was an untimely death, because it wouldn't have been from old age. The pets mentioned in this thread who were 20 years of age when they passed away lived out their full life span, maybe even longer. It was just their time to go.

I guess it isn't something I can understand unless I experience it.

Because many people fear death and there is the separation from loved the ones who pass on.

I'm sorry if I came off as crass, that's just a question I've had for a while so I thought I'd ask.

I can't really think of a fancy segue here to get this back on topic. I'll have a look at some reviews of WiiWare games tomorrow so that I can post my list.

The LostWinds sequel came out?  Holy crap I've been out of it for a while.  I still don't have time to make a list thanks to work, but that's something that would probably be on it.  I guess I can at least say that while I like a very wide range of genres, I generally don't like tower defense or traditional sports games.

Friday is the gifting day so then on Friday we send the gifts or can we send them on thursday and wait?
I'm sorry about your cat passing. I have had cats and have had to see them go- it's not easy, but in time you will feel better. It seemed like he had a nice long life, that's something not anyone can have.

Thanks guys, but it wasn't MY cat, it was my girlfriends cat that passed. I'd been with her for a long time now so i've had my own lil history with the cat, but she's the one having the really tough time. I'll tell her you guys gave your condolensces though. It's been a rough day...

Back to Becret Banta though; Fleece if you'd like to send your gift Thursday because you're unavailable Friday, be my guest. There's really no set time for anyone to send a gift come Friday, so sending it out thursday doesn't matter because perhaps your gift receiver won't be able to get it until the following day. Now that everyone has been assigned who they must gift to, it's pretty chill from here on out.

Tomorrow is a busy day for me, gotta run out and get last min gifts to ship out, run home and connect my wii (hopefully!) and generally preparing for not only gifting day friday but some big weekend plans i have. I'd like to apologize in advance to:

-the person I will be gifting to, in case i can't get your gift out on Friday, it's not because i didn't try. I'll work something out with you, no worries.

-and a general apology to all whom participated for being a crappy host this year. I started this thread when I was ill and tried the best I could to get things done in a timely manner  but simply lost track of time and had to rush to get things done. If things seemed a little hectic because you didn't find out who you had to gift for until last minute, my bad.

I'll see y'all Friday!

Added all you goons! And since i've known many of you since Junior high you all better stay on my list! Well that is to say please keep me on your lists, for random hellos from time to time.

I would like most anything. All I have is Ecco the dolphin 2, Mario RPG, Star Fox 64, Strong Bad 1, Kirby Dream Land 3, Kirby avalance and thats it. Used to everything under the sun on my new old wii.

But Lost Winds sure does seem fun. Or any of the Sonic games, the good ones! Sonic 1 -Knuckles is cool. Or a complete surprise would be awesome to!

I got all the codes entered last night.  I spent a little time looking at stuff in the shop to maybe make a last minute list, but I decided that, like last year, I'd like to use this as an opportunity to get something I wouldn't normally buy myself.  Browsing the shop reminded me that I should point out I already got all the episodic games on Steam, though.

Who would buy someone an episodic game unless it was specifically requested?  Here's a $10 game!  Now you have to buy $40 to finish it and see how it ends!

Better yet, you could just buy someone like episode 4, just to **** with them.  ;D
