I played through Shining Force II many years ago, but I haven't played it in ages.  I've just gotten it from the VC and I'm off again.  The music in this game really really takes me back.

For those of you who didn't love SF1, I'd still recommend checking out SF2.  I think it's a more polished game.

Hooray for Shining Force II!  I'm really excited to play this game.  ;D
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

I've made it halfway through Shining Force II twice now.

Yup.

I'm playing through on one of the harder difficulties, and they're not kidding around.  It's significantly harder.

Well now that voting is over I'm sad to see my choice didn't win. I voted that way to hear the interesting discussions that would follow, I'm not sure if shinning force will be a great listen. RPG's are hard to really describe unless you played them.

That's precisely why I'm interested in trying out the second in the series, brood. :)

When I redeem some more points, I'll download Shining Force II (which I voted for finally after changing my mind three times). I've next to nothing to go on but the positive critiques given in this thread, so this had better be good. ;)

It depends:  If you like turn-based strategy RPGs, then yeah, go for it.  My problem is what I hinted at before:  After a few hours, I just decide I need a break from the genre.  It seemed like a fine game to me, though.

Wow, Comix Zone put up a pretty good fight. I would be down with voting for it later down the road.

Guess I need to set up my Wii now. I got hooked on the DS and have yet to set up my Wii because of it.

I don't think we'll have any trouble describing it since we'll be playing it. And you won't have any trouble following the discussion if you play along too! I hope you'll give it a shot.

Now that voting is over, I'll admit that I'm very relieved Comix Zone didn't win. The more people talked about it, the more I remembered my childhood agony when I rented it so long ago. I really wanted to enjoy it, but I couldn't due to the insane difficulty. And I was more skillful and far more patient back then. I have no desire to suffer through another SGnG-style RetroActive.

Agreed. I imagine conversation would quickly peter out as it became evident that none of the listeners or crew had been able to get past the third level. Although I suppose there are in-game cheats, right? I never checked.

I mourn for Kid Chameleon, but Shining Force II is a good pick. I wish I had more time to sit down and play it with everyone. :(

Can we get a discussion thread for the game?
