Defender of the Crown freeze - Game fault or GBA fault?

I have a new GBA SP and 2 games: Defender of the Crown and Phantasy Star Collection. PSC run smooth but Defender keep freezing. It happened 3 time in 15 minutes of gameplay so far!

This really stinks
