Colored names = ranking, ranking = classes, classes = separation, separation = POLITICS! This whole forum system has just become one big political thread, lock the whole board.

First they were changing their names to include NWR (e.g NWR Pale)
Now they opt for a color change instead.
We are being divided by colors.... wasn't once enough? Has history taught us nothing? [/faux outrage]

Why red? how about

Pale or Pale or Pale

Red is such an aggressive color.

Don't look at me, I was happy being "one of the guys". It was the rest of staff that felt the need to something stand out above everyone else, so now we are blue so people can be green with envy...

This was brought on because we started to feel that some staffers were not connected to their forum names in the minds of all of you guys.

We don't want the forums to become such a separate entity from the site itself. We want you all to know that when Halbred makes a comment about dinosaurs, he is the same person as Zach Miller from NWR.

Some of you (like vudu) may have noticed that some of us were playing with tagging our usernames in a different way. Aaron then stepped in and set up the cool coloring which I think solves the problem nicely.

I just feel like if staff, mods, admins, and all the people in the "network" can change their names, we should be able to, too.

Maybe I want to become "OneOfTheGuys," or just "NotTheJasonInGainesvilleNickAndChessaKnow," but I'll bet you'd just tell me that can't be done, especially the second name. If the second name is possible, I might take it for a while.

If you want to change your display name, you can ask us to change it. We turned off the option to change it at any time since it got out of control earlier.

Well, you can't get a colored one (unless it's your birthday or you're banned).
Also, a name that long is going to get truncated.

Eh, during the MPT, things got very confusing. NWR's Nick and Chess DiMola have befriended someone named Jason who works for the Gainesville branch of Ignition. When we were both signed on, chatting, and skyping with them, as far as names went, who was being called, and whom was whom grew to be a bit confusing. More confusing than figuring out which guy that guy was, to some.

So this is likely a temporary play on that.

Edit: Can't moderators and admins change other moderators and admins' names?

Hey, while we're at it, we should definitely bring back the point system....
